While Mr O'Toole had not been abused by Gibney, he approached other swimmers to see if they had been and the web started to unravel with others saying they too had been abused.

Interesting. Seems this was a society wide problem - and not something unique to the Catholic Church; something those of us with a braincell knew already.
Isn't it astonishing that the media - who have a responsibility not to stir brainless mobs - have used their platform to incite against a group of individuals to the exclusion of all others, all while dispensing with protections such as the presumption of innocence, fair procedures, due process and the right to a fair trial.
And as we know, this has real life consequences for individuals.
