I've been reading Evola's Introduction to Magic Volume I & have ordered his book on tantra but just flicking through a volume of Saint Augustine he claims that all this stuff is black magic controlled by demons.

In the final anaylsis just what the hell is the WEF anyway? It's nothing but a talking shop and is only given any sort of stature because the modern politician is no more than a middle manager with little vision of its own, thus they need to pretend to be big and important by rubbing shoulders with others who they like to consider big and important, but are the same stamp of nobodys when all is said and done.

Nothing, because it doesn't work. This should in fact be exceedingly obvious. If Magic actually worked we'd be living in a markedly different world. There would be no assassinations, no corporate sabotage/espionage. There'd be no arms races. There'd be virtually no point in standing armies. No point in courts of Law, or trials. World leaders would be dropping like flies, and so would the ex's of jilted lovers, divorcees, and all manner of people.

There could well be certain individuals or rituals which may be able to do this, but even so, even they may have limits to what can be achieved.

Exercise and eating healthy doesn't work. If exercise and eating healthy worked, everyone would do it and no one would be unfit or unhealthy.

You're saying that if magic works then it should work 100% of the time, and that there should be no limits to what magic can achieve.

Think of it like hypnosis. The idea is to insert messages into the subconscious mind which will result in a change in one's consciousness to bring about a desired change in their external reality. Symbolism is the language of the subconscious mind, so that's why symbols are used in magic. Incantations and wearing certain clothes in rituals are used to get one into a specific headspace or mindset.

There are many forms of magic - not all involve rituals or invoking spirits. Language itself is a form of magic that can be used to manipulate people. Advertising and marketing are good examples of this. Then there are special words which manipulate people do all sorts of things. The word "Black" for example is extremely powerful. Sports people use visualisation techniques. Business people use Neuro-Linguistic programming (NLP) and positive affirmations to achieve success.

It doesn't even matter if magic actually works or not, or how it works. The purpose of magic is to create a belief that one will achieve what they desire; to support one's actions to help 'tip the scales' in one's favour to achieve a desired outcome. The most successful sportspeople and business people achieve their goals because they first believe they will - those who don't believe they will be winners probably won't be.
