Watching some woke spokeswoman on Ireland am this morning, they are really pushing for the aul lockdown again due to the price of fuel. Was thinking tho, if told by your boss to work from home, can you refuse, saying you want to keep your work seperate from your home life? Why do the government assume we should work from our own home, instead they could offer free public transport etc? Working from home anyway, will mean you would shoulder the high energy costs...

The snotty classes now have this wonderful new authoritarian mechanism for ruling it over the smelly socks. They'll be wanting to deploy it at every opportunity.

Lots of people would happily WFH and get the job done no problem.

The gov really screwed up by watering down the right to WFH legislation to almost nothing.

So now all they can probably do is "advise" and "recommend" employers to have their workers WFH where possible, and employers have fought too hard to pull everyone back into the office to just acquice to that now.

Yes, but at the end of the day, employers, not the government, will decide where you work. If the government brought in a right to wfh, there would be a mass exodus of multi Nationals. Guaranteed. The government know that, hence they watered it down so as to be meaningless
