"Doom Scrolling" and "Hate Scrolling"- how much is this responsible for the seeming popularity of Andrew Tate et al?

Going out of your way to scroll through stuff on the interweb from people you despise and/or see as enemies from my observations seems to be a vice that effects women more than men, how true do people think that is?

I know that this is something that I personally have struggled with.

We can be fairly certain that a lot of the traffic that the Stormfront forum gets is from members of a certain group that most people would see Don Black and David Duke as being very hostile to.

How much could the seeming popularity of Andrew Tate and his ilk online be down to women and girls hate watching him as opposed to actual young lads looking to him for guidance?

Is that what doom scrolling is? I thought it was where you look through a channel you generally agree with to see the endless examples of bad shit happening in the world collated together in one place. I follow the Tradition British channel on Telegram and its one never ending scroll of bad news stories and videos of diversity crime and government cucking. It makes it seem as if the country is one never ending story of disaster. Its depressing and although I agree with their perspectives on many things I can hardly at time bear to even look.

I have got the same way with channels like the Duran. You know what they'll say, day after day, hour after hour. I dont hate what they're saying but find the endlessness of it all off putting now. I am more likely to watch some guy review an album or city break or something.

But I can see how people would tune in to a channel they are familiar with and let it play rather than actively pay attention to it. I have often got through a long form video on politics and whilst having another window open and not have taken in anything the politics video was saying.

"Doom Scroll" means looking obsessively at any depressive content whether from sources that you agree with or disagree with.
