The Mercator projection of the world is well known to misrepresent the size of countries, this map shows the Mercator projection with the actual size of the countries in darker red. Quite an eye opener.

All maps are wrong, for various reasons. One reason is the Coastline Paradox. There are also political reasons. Distortions in world maps are caused by their attempts to project a sphere on to a flat surface. The sphere earth is derived from latitudes which are elevation angle measurements (only possible on a flat surface) to Polaris. They then take those flat earth angle measurements and project them on to a sphere. In the Mercator projection, that sphere was projected on to a cylinder, which in turn was rolled out into a flat surface, hence the distortion.

I hope this Palestine rag-wearing spastic gets prison time, but I doubt it. It will be interesting to see if he gets away with supporting Hezbollah and encouraging people to kill their local MP, recorded on video, considering the people in the UK sent to prison under hate speech laws.

My old man was like that, I think autumn was his favourite season.. followed by winter

Can't say I inherited it though. Like chilli, I can't take the heat too much, although I'd rather (and have) battle my way through a full Australian summer than an Irish winter, I'd rather roast than freeze :)
