The mobile phone was touted as an ID card just about as soon as it was invented, I remember having this discussion 20 - 25 years ago, and I resist at every opportunity which is difficult at times.

I went to open a bank account with BOI recently and they more less insisted that I download their app. Haven't so far.

Technology has become the guiding principle of society, not human values.
