Russia would be ‘best’ ally for US – Tucker Carlson

Russia would be the “best” ally for the US due to the country’s vast landmass, rich natural resources, and formidable military, conservative American host Tucker Carlson has said.

Speaking during a podcast on his YouTube channel on Thursday, Carlson suggested that “looking purely through the lens of what’s good for the United States, an America First perspective, Russia would be the most “obvious partner for Washington.
“Why? Because it’s the biggest country in the world. It’s got enormous mineral deposits, energy deposits… and a formidable military, by far the biggest on that continent,” Carlson said. “If you needed an ally to help you in a conflict… Russia would be, like, the best, of course.”

Relations between the US and Russia sank to a major low during Joe Biden’s tenure as president, amid the conflict in Ukraine and Western sanctions against Moscow.

However, since returning to the White House in January, Donald Trump has sought to mend ties with Russia and mediate a settlement of the Ukraine conflict. Apart from talks over ending the hostilities, the sides have discussed potential cooperation in the Arctic, investment and business opportunities, as well as building a direct rail tunnel under the Bering Strait connecting the two countries.
Historically, US-Russia relations have seen periods of cooperation. The two nations were allied against Nazi Germany in World War Two, and despite becoming Cold War adversaries, they experienced several stretches of détente, including arms-control breakthroughs and space cooperation.

In the immediate aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Russian President Vladimir Putin was the first world leader to call then-US President George W. Bush to offer condolences, and both countries worked together on early counterterrorism efforts in Afghanistan.

Hopefully we're seeing the last few stings of the dying EU wasp.
It might take 10 years but the attempted Fourth Reich will be dead on arrival.

EU officials ‘raping the law’ – Orban

The European Commission is set to vote on an emergency measure to indefinitely freeze Russian assets and strip member states of veto powers over them

EU officials are “systematically raping the law” by planning to strip member states of veto powers over frozen Russian assets, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said.
The European Commission is due to vote later on Friday on a plan to invoke Article 122 of the EU treaties, an emergency clause that allows decisions to pass by qualified majority instead of requiring unanimous approval. The measure would let the bloc immobilize frozen Russian sovereign assets indefinitely and use the profits or interest to support Ukraine – even if some member states object.

“With today’s procedure, the Brusselians are abolishing the requirement of unanimity with a single stroke of the pen, which is clearly unlawful,” Orban wrote on X on Friday. “The rule of law in the European Union comes to an end, and Europe’s leaders are placing themselves above the rules. Instead of safeguarding compliance with the EU treaties, the European Commission is systematically raping European law.”

Orban accused EU “bureaucrats” and warmongers of pushing the move “to continue the war in Ukraine, a war that clearly isn’t winnable.”
“With this, the rule of law in the EU is being replaced by the rule of bureaucrats. In other words, a Brusselian dictatorship has taken hold,”
he said. “Hungary protests this decision and will do everything in its power to restore a lawful order.”

Kiev’s Western backers froze about $300 billion in Russian central bank assets after the Ukraine conflict escalated in 2022, with most of it held at Brussels-based Euroclear. A sharp dispute has emerged in recent weeks between European nations seeking to use the frozen funds as collateral for a ‘reparations loan’ for Kiev and those firmly opposed, citing legal and financial risks.

Invoking the emergency clause to freeze the assets indefinitely would strip opponents such as Hungary of their ability to veto a six-month renewal of the freeze. Under the plan, the freeze would remain in place until Russia pays post-conflict reparations to Ukraine and the EU decides there is no longer “an immediate threat” to its economic interests from potential legal retaliation.

Moscow has condemned any attempt to use its assets as illegal. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this week that Moscow will retaliate against any expropriation, adding that “robbing” Russia is the last remaining option for Ukraine’s European backers to sustain Kiev in its conflict with Moscow.

Hungary has long argued against further aid to Kiev, with Orban comparing it to trying to “help an alcoholic by sending them another crate of vodka.” Budapest is not alone in opposing the ‘reparations loan’ scheme. Belgium, which holds most of the funds, has sharply criticized the plan, with Prime Minister Bart De Wever calling it tantamount to “stealing” Russian money. EU states are set to vote on the proposal at a summit next week.

The Nick Fuentes thing is all very " interesting " !

But why is Nick Fuentes suddenly getting so much platforming ? !

If it suits the establishment = = They can quite easily keep some-one like Nick Fuentes, in the shadows / basically out of main-street sight.

But suddenly, it suits the establishment to have Nick Fuentes all over the media = = The question is, Why and Why Now ? !

Fuentes is a Catholic, AFAIK.

The flame of democracy is still burning bright amongst the people of at least one EU statelet. Lithuanians have taken to the streets defending the country's national broadcaster, something that may be unthinkable here in RTEland, but the government is trying to have a greater say in its mangement board and journalists are leading the people in fighting back.

The figure of 10,000 protestors is being bandied about by the government but word from the street is that is was more like 40,000.

Does anyone know WTF clarke-connolly is talking about? 🤔

The only conclusion I can reach here is that you and the other idiot are BOOMER TRUTH REGIMERS!

You don't get what Fuentes is doing precisely because of that fact

You are in very bad humour today, Was your milk gone off ? !
You never answer a question, like the other idiot, you're terrified of any scrutiny of what you say and would rather wallow like a pig in it and use ad hom as a reply

Yes, that has a tendency to irritate me

eist do bheal, AN2! Ta na fir ag caint.

Legal query: I want to write about Sgt Melanie Walsh, but she is quick with the injunctions. It's unlikely she would be so stupid as to try a US injunction.

But she might try to injunct Irish internet providers and even the Atlantic internet cable owners to ban this site. I don't think this has ever happened, but the law and the tech would allow for it.

I don't want to jepordise the site for the sake of some cheap laughs at the sargeant's expense. but I am keen to publicly mock Sgt Mel. Any thoughts?

She would be more likely to ask that my hosting provider would ditch me.

But I do not know

The post you were not happy was perfectly understandable ~ As I say you are perfectly within your, rights / ability, to dis-agree with it.

From now on I shall do my best to play the posts and not the poster.

Eh, no. I have no idea who that is

You obviously have a personal cross to bear and Dan has given you a platform to do it here (which IMO is poor judgement)

Video is much slower than reading.

1. Could you post a three line summary every time you do a new video?
2. Have you tried a machine transcript of the video? I hear they are quite good and quite fast. That could be posted here.
