Was'nt much of a hurricane after all the hype.

Folk in midleton cork have endured worse trauma from the weather.

Storm in a tea cup. 😌

Were there any bridges in Florida 1,000 years ago?
A few, where massive tree trunks were felled over a ravine, either by weather, beaver and/or Indian.

Talking of tree trunks . . . They retain & contain the climate data from a long time back . . .

And Florida has some of the best natural data available, going back even 2000 years, would you believe?;)

How Old is Florida’s Oldest Tree?

The oldest tree in Florida is a 2,000-year-old bald cypress tree called Lady Liberty. It’s located in the aptly named Big Tree Park in Longwood, Florida. Park officials have built a raised boardwalk to provide easy access, and surrounded Lady Liberty with a fence so you can’t touch it!

Anyway, in addition to the natural evidence there is also the written historical record which goes back 500 years.
No shortage of proof out there

Exactly so, they preserve a record of variations in the weather that confirm we are experiencing nothing new today.

Some sense at last -

Still, Bryan Griffin, DeSantis' communications director, later bolstered the point on X: "TRUTH. The 'government controls the weather' crowd and the global warming/climate change alarmists are 2 sides of the same coin: unscientific, agenda-motivated, & unhelpful following a storm. Weather is weather."

Our Beginnings Run Deep

Chimney Rock Village has been the center of a tourist Mecca for over 400 years. According to documents from the Madrid library, Hernando Desoto led his conquistadors through Hickory Nut Gorge on the way to the Mississippi River. Hunters and trappers used the Gorge as a passage to and from Asheville and Revolutionary War patriots known as the Overmountain Victory Men passed through on their way to defeat the British at the Battle of Kings Mountain.

The earliest settlers near Chimney Rock were around 1805, about the time area newspapers were reporting mirages or apparitions that had been seen against the cliffs of Chimney Rock Mountain.

Pity it was Chimney Rock's turn to break Records right down the middle of main st.

You shouldn't be leaving smiling emojis after such devastation Love.
Correct, it's just a symptom from Clown World.

One could imagine the towns folk peering up at the weather forecast on TV in the tavern.

"Maybe it'll flood over this way, like it did last year" cautioned an ole farmer,

"Not likely, that was a 200 year record event according to measurements" assured the school teacher.

"It flooded higher than the bell tower" murmured the fishmonger "But that was 2.5 million years ago . . . Still, it could happen again maybe even tonight" he said twirling his whiskers with a gleam in his eye.

"True enough" they all sighed . . . .

And look what happened:cool:
