This thread will be for interesting but short lived videos or events all in one place as we tidy up and reduce thread numbers going forward.

I will start with this Richie Allen show which looks like he has packed in a 10 year series. He just resigns himself to the acceptance that all these general types of efforts are totally futile , be it twitter , utube etc etc etc. It seems his health has failed himself somewhat also.

I would jump to 50 minutes and I think it is very good. Now maybe I should not have stopped listening about 6 years ago or whenever.

But a person has only so much time. When my season is on, I do not have time even for here, much less anyplace else.

He makes good points and is worth a listen.

I found the below channel about historical clothing and diets entertaining and also inspiring as regards needle work skills, etc.

1995 has just called and is looking for its science back 😂

It’d be hilarious if one of the kids asked him why he frequented Epstein’s Island.
Spa 🤣

The fact that you think the Epstein island loving pervert is still hip shows what kind of a dinosaur you are.

You’re fossilised in 1995.

You embarrassed yourself in your bullshit "Origins" thread (or rather I did), which is why you deleted my posts and banned me

Now clear off!

Why did Dawkins go to Epstein’s island and travel on the ‘Lolita express’?

^ Notice the laugh emoji from Sword 5 minutes after I posted the video (duration 52 minutes)..

No wonder she's eh, open to the flat-earth "model" 🤣

To be honest I only viewed a few seconds of it. My sister is really into or at least was these scientific polemics put out by American Protestants defending the compatibility of what we now call hard science with their views on Creation but I could never work up the enthusiasm to study this material. In some ways I am a stereotypical Ulster Scot and in other ways I am a total outlier, and in my lack of interest in Chemistry, Physics, etc I am the latter. So even if I did not find his whole style annoying I could only sit through all that if I had a good reason such as a need to inflict punishment upon myself over something serious that I had done wrong. You could accuse me of anti-intellectual willful ignorance here, and you might well be right.

I really don't know what bothers people about his "style", it doesn't bother me. Possibly because usually when he's talking to someone he's right and they're wrong

Would I think differently about his style if I agreed with you that he is usually right?

Maybe, but than again maybe not, I honestly do not have an answer to that question.

I don't really agree with him trying to rationalise matters relating to God, which are by their very nature supernatural (and unscientific) e.g. with Mehdi Hasan and the winged horse

But when it comes to matters scientific, he's invariably right. Then again, his competition isn't usually very stiff, half-witted TV journalists like Bill O'Reilly and Piers Morgan (neither of whom can compute the God of the gaps fallacy) or biblical creationists like Wendy

That was an interesting thing in that there are a ton of people who believe that Mehdi Hasan humiliated Dawkins there and there are another ton of people who believe exactly the opposite.
