I was recently reading about a Japanese novelist called Haruki Murakami who has been labelled 'unjapanese' by the literary establishment there because he is too left-wing.
Thinking about Irish literature, there seems to be mostly (unless you count the anglo-irish writers like Swift & Yeats) a tendency toward left-wing ideas in Ireland's literature.
James Joyce, Samuel Beckett & Patrick Kavanagh come to mind.
If one of us right-wingers wrote a novel, would we be considered 'unirish'?
