Correct. The change, particularly in Dublin, in even the last 10 years has been astonishing. I walk through the city centre every day on my way to work and it is an extremely unpleasant experience - from the gangs of gypsies who seem to be everywhere, the obnoxious loudmouths from South America and Africa. The Irish character has been completely stripped from the place.

Now, I just work there, so I can kind of escape it when I get home to my middle class suburb which is still majority Irish. But imagine living right in and among that, as Irish communities in the North inner city do? Communities that are already at a disadvantage owing to all sorts of other problems.

That's why I wouldn't look down on anyone who lashes out. Who am I to judge them?

That's convenient. Normally the likes of the Slimes will insist all children born here are Irish and their parentage is irrelevant. Yet here they are telling us they're migrants. They were also very quick to say the first man on the scene was a migrant when in fact it was an Irishman who initially tackled the attacker.
