This reminds me of Mitterand and his Socialist Party getting elected in France in the early 1980s on a Hard Left Economic Program and proceeding to mirror Thatcher in many regards when it came to the economy or more recently Zelenski getting elected in the Ukraine on a platform of patching things up with the Russian Federation, Donbass, etc and doing something serious about the gross economic inequalities and out of control crime in the place and than after having been elected proceeded to do the complete opposite on all those things big time. Margaret Thatcher though for all her other faults did deliever on seriously reducing immigration.
