This reminds me of Mitterand and his Socialist Party getting elected in France in the early 1980s on a Hard Left Economic Program and proceeding to mirror Thatcher in many regards when it came to the economy or more recently Zelenski getting elected in the Ukraine on a platform of patching things up with the Russian Federation, Donbass, etc and doing something serious about the gross economic inequalities and out of control crime in the place and than after having been elected proceeded to do the complete opposite on all those things big time. This is terrible. I am related to people who went to live in Sicily. They say it is like the first chapter of the Camp of Saints some days. Unrelenting. And the local organised crime scum are in cahoots with the trafficker and money makers.

Wanting a clamp on mass immigration is not the same thing as wanting a Nationalist Revolution as such. Also if you read the link in the OP it was not the Left that prevented and/or steered the present Italian government away from doing something to at least slow down what you call the great replacement but rather Big Business.

Clearly in this case they cannot make that argument as Meloni and Salvini made putting a stop even to mass immigration a key part of their platform and was a core reason that they got elected.
