The D4 heads on Pravda radio are up in arms over the appearance of Irish flags in working class areas in Dublin. They just had an entire segment on Morning Ireland where two D4 journalists were caterwauling over how awful it is that residents in working class areas are increasingly flying the tricolour from homes, lampposts etc. There was the usual slurs: far right, anti-immigrant, racist.

It didn't seem to register with the two shitlib journalists that the areas they mentioned - Ballyfermot, Ballymun, Finglas, Coolock, Sheriff Street - are among the most deprived in the country, and the appearance of so many flags might be a hint that there's a backlash among poorer communities against the nation wrecking policies being pursued by successive governments. What better way to give the shitlibs in D4 - completely unaffected by wreckless policies - a kick in the teeth?

A Labour councillor was quoted as saying: "what action the council is going to take". And a FG councillor on the Northside is calling on the Gardai to remove the flags.

The two shitlibs in the studio agreed that it was awful, and something should be done.

Ireland 2025 everyone.
 
Look Aldo. I think flying the national fleg outside houses and off lampposts etc looks tatty and I don't really like this new phenomenon.

However, which came first the chicken or the egg? Did these people just start flying them for no reason or have they done it in response to seeing their Country and communities taken from them?

I bet the D4 heads didn't ask that question.

I like it. And I feel more than comfortable in an area with tricolours flying everywhere. Apparently that isn't the same for everybody.. 🤔

Personally I don't see the problem. If you travel around the US, it's commonplace in the suburbs to see flags flying outside homes. I saw in the same in villages in the South of France. I imagine that any politician in either country who would criticise someone for flying the national flag would be given short shrift by the general population.

And as you point out, this is a reaction to wreckless policies supported by every political Party. It's no surprise that it's the toughest areas in Dublin that are at the forefront . These are the areas being forced to accommodate asylum shoppers, while the kunts in the Dail and RTE journalists can afford to live in expensive postcodes; where the residents utilise judicial reviews instead of Street protests to stop North African gangs being accommodated near them.

You'll find a lot of the "anti-immigration" support is drawn from that voting bloc - mainly disenfranchised Sinn Féin voters.
