Whoever the judge was, s/he should be sacked. It is very easy to sack a judge for stated misbehaviour. Reducing sentences for ungrateful foreign thugs is misbehaviour. A vote in Dail and Seanad will sling that useless judge out.

Call your TD and Senator and force them to sack at least some of the most obviously criminal judges.

If the TD is getting twenty or thirty personal interactions every day with people who insult him and call him a traitor, plus hundreds of letters, emails and calls with the same message, that might be enough. The TDs staff will start having mental breakdowns.

The EU is finally waking up to the strength of feeling and has come up with a package to deter illegal immigation which it voted thtough last week. Although the voting breakdown is not given here I have heard that Irish MEPs naturally voted against it.

MEPs voted 389 to 206 on the package of tougher immigration measures, which includes harsher penalties for migrants who refuse to leave and allows hubs to be opened outside the EU to which unsuccesful asylum applicants can be deported.

Derby: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after 'multiple pedestrians' struck by car​


A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after "multiple pedestrians" were struck by a car in Derby city centre.

The car, a black Suzuki Swift, struck a number of people in Friar Gate at about 9.30pm on Saturday, police said.

"We can confirm that seven people were injured when a car was driven into pedestrians in a city centre street," Derbyshire Police said in a statement on Facebook.

"The seven suffered a range of serious but not life-threatening injuries and we can confirm that contrary to online speculation, no one died in the incident."

A man in his 30s, who is originally from India, was found a short time after the incident, said police.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Belgian Blues are renowned for being double muscled, that is to say say they have great fat bums. Not sure if Val is into that sort of thing, but neither does it look as if Ms Henman is similarly endowed, so hopefully that will be no obstacle to the impending romance.

The vast majority of Syrian migrants currently residing in Germany should return to their home country over the next three years, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has said.

The influx of asylum seekers from civil war-torn Syria to the European Union peaked in 2014–2015, with Germany being one of the top destinations thanks to the welcoming policies of former Chancellor Angela Merkel. Nearly a million Syrians are now living in the country, according to estimates.

German authorities have since gradually tightened asylum laws following a string of terrorist attacks and pressure from the anti-immigration Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, which is now the second-largest force in the Bundestag.

On Monday, Merz hosted Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, whose Islamist forces toppled the country’s longtime leader Bashar Assad in December 2024. Speaking during a joint press conference, Merz argued that “conditions in Syria have now fundamentally improved” and that the protection of refugees “must therefore be reassessed.”

“We therefore need a reliable return option… especially and first and foremost for those who abuse our hospitality,” the chancellor said, adding that skilled Syrians would “bring valuable experience to the reconstruction of their homeland.”

When pressed by a journalist for details, Merz said that “over the next three years… around 80% of the Syrians currently residing in Germany should return to their home country.”

According to the BBC, al-Sharaa said his government was working with Germany on a “circular migration model” that would “enable Syrians to contribute to the reconstruction of their homeland without giving up the stability and lives they have built here, for those who wish to stay.”
Despite al-Sharaa’s pledge to promote an inclusive society, his rule has been marred by renewed sectarian violence, including massacres of Christians, Alawites, and Kurds.

The war in Syria began with anti-government protests in 2011 and evolved into a multi-sided conflict; the jihadist group Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), controlled large parts of eastern Syria from 2014 to 2017.

Al-Sharaa’s group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which ultimately gained control of Syria, originated as Jabhat al-Nusra in 2012, a local offshoot of the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. In 2016-2017, it publicly broke ties with Al-Qaeda and merged with several other smaller Islamist factions to form HTS.

As it happens, I'm friends with a German, thru the gaa, he completely agrees with you here, said standards in Germany have massively declined, infrastructure especially. Heard that also from someone who is a regular visitor. I found it surprising to hear, but I absolutely trust their opinions

Right there is the prime example of a broken migration system. Why are they still considering this wankers application for asylum when it's clear he would be a danger to the public, so our political system is enabling this abuse. As soon as he dropped his pants in public he needed to be deported asap. Wonder what publicly funded NGO is representing this pos. Sick of this shit. A good question - but a few small things, but if more followed suit. I would have given Pascal a high preference vote each election (Bertie before that) - not a popular thing to say, but I found both personable - but no more votes for any establishment party. None. The harder the candidate is on immigration the higher the preference. Have also been more outspoken around the more polite people I am on familiar terms with -friends, families, acquaintances hell even strangers...- I really don't give a shit if people i know, think that maybe Im far right - and what I have refreshingly noticed is that the vast majority are of the same opinion - but we need more of the public, especially the "grey" vote, who get their news from rte, to understand their voting habits are the cause of this mass migration.
