Apparently half the GAA clubs in Ireland are suddenly seeking 'Assistant groundkeepers', which is cutting the grass and doing a touch of painting I'd imagine. They are all Community Employment (CE) schemes and one way to qualify is to hold refugee status.

Looks like they are inventing jobs for the new Irish.

They'll head back home soon as the next credit crunch or jump on the mailboat to Canada with the old Irish, Australia's got plenty of space and weather suitable to foreigners, maybe they'll take their new Irish passports and fuck off to sunnier climes like Irish Irish do:)

Here's an example from JobsIreland.ie -

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

You can register your interest by selecting the ‘Register your interest’ button or you can contact a case officer in your local Intreo Centre.
