Only you JPC could tell people to read a (presumably long) article on a Site where you need to be a member!

Btw Sir, storm Helena has wrought catastrophic damage to the southeast of the US.

Do you think that is linked to Climate Change?

I wish people would shut the fuck about climate change. If the models we have are accurate, we're already beyond fucked and nothing we do at this point matters, even we went 100% emissions neutral globally tomorrow. We've already hit the feedback loops, and it's over. Forgetting that I don't care how green you think you are, or how hairy you let your armpits get, you cannot participate in the civilizations we have constructed without directly contributing, every day, to the destruction of the world. That's what people are; two-legged maggots accelerating the entropic death of the planet.

I recently had a conversation with a guy who works for the largest energy company in Aus, and he quite plainly told me that behind closed doors global warming is not even a consideration outside the marketing department. The biggest problem that exists, at least in my country, is that there's not enough fossil fuels to meet energy demands over the next fifty years. That's actually why the Government is pushing renewables. Not because of the environment. Because that's what we've got as it would take way too long to go nuclear, if we were going to do that we should have done it 25-30 years ago.

I think it's due to a hurricane!
The evidence is strongly in favour of that theory!

The whole thing is totally moot. Completely. I say this as someone who is quite pro-environment and who even works with a few eco groups. It's all just market creation.

We're lucky in Australia to have huge amounts of solar that can be harnessed, but I don't see how it's a solution for the EU, especially when you consider baseload problems. It would have to offset by nuclear, wind is shit. Even here, it's going to take probably a trillion dollars to rework the grid for storage.

"Ewwwwwmegahhhd! Nucwear Wastes!" Scream the lefties resplendent in their tie-dyed cheesecloth imported from a Bangladeshi sweatshop and Sterling Silver Jewellery derived from a mountaintop mine.

Nuclear waste, you say? Here's what 45 years worth of it looks like. North Anna Plant.
These people know nothing. About anything.

100% in agreement with your take on the subject.
BTW that shouldn't have been struggle but STFU about climate change.

Seems the weather has seriously changed, here and there . . .

Aye, even NASA has admitted that the world has got greener since it started recording vegetation cover, 15% I think the last figure I saw was.

The interesting thing is it is not just about water supply but the fact that with a higher CO2 level the leaf stomata do not need to be open as wide or for as long, thus conserving moisture and allowing the plant to live in drier areas.

OK, I've just watched the video itself and am left thinking what sort of shallow BS is that! If an area is not used to rainfall then he does not prepare for it and so the kip will likely flood, simple as. Also looking at the well established scrubland shown and thinking that is not the result of recent rains. It's a kinda made up story saying what the reporter thinks is happening in her pretty little head rather than a true analysis of the situation.

Sure thing but also the recent "Greening" is significant of a sudden change in rain yields, jet streams and ocean currents.
We've seen that in action this year on our own wee sod, what more proof do we need??

10,000 years of precise and consistent global records would be a good start.

The thing is that there really is serious *Climate Change - Weather Change* occurring in a large swathe from West through Central to East Africa. For the last 4+years they've been getting consistently flooded out at Record Levels at the like rarely seen.
The result is a desert undergoing changes that have been previously unknown last century . . .

P.S. Yes of course the desert blooms into colourful life after the rains which dries up fairly fast but recently in Africa . . . . The Greening is suddenly persisting along with the changed new wet rainy weather.

What's funny 😄😃😁😅😆 is when critics dismiss all the evidence as if it's meaningless and doesn't exist. . . .
. . . . but it does!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_African_Sahel_floods

🤓

Oh yeah< it's been a celebratory time for a change 😉🥳🥳

It is meaningless as you are comparing a few years with the 3.5 billion years that the climate has been around.

It's seems this 'global warming' lark is giving us milder winters and warmer (if a bit wet sometimes) summers.
Happy days.

That's like something Spock🖖would say!! :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, there are phenomenal records being broken (hang the DJ) constantly in Central Africa these recent years, the monsoon never stops most of the year and has been observed to be rising North in line to service Saudi and other Emirates 😉

Any records being broken in Tubercurry Love? :sneaky:

Of Course, The biggest record breaking pot of Tuber Curry which main ingredients comprised of carrots, potatoes & sweet potatoes (and a few tomatoes at the end;)) . . . but yeah . . .
That record breaking tuber curry was cooked in Tubercurry and later after the banquet the remainders of the curry was put in tubs to offer as souvenirs of the momentous occasion.

The climate is always changing, that's what it does naturally without the need of any input from you and the Rolla.

This is the biggest load of alarmist shyte I've read in a while.
Seriously hysterical off the rail's stuff.
And no insight into the why's Huge uncontrolled inward migration.
And all that entails.
The insinuating our emissions are the exclusive issue.
Just to start.

Shower of middle class lefties resplendent in their tie-dyed moral superiority.
Near 500 pages long, who the hell as time to read that and what sort of industry is behind producing it? That's one mighty bandwagon packed with jobs for the boys!

Poor old Myles would be on life support if he was confronted with that.

Hubris and virtue signalling can be expensive bedfellows as this video amply demonstrates -

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BD_wkP91P0

Basically it was decided to replace a diesel ferry with a solar powered electric one. The old one was sold off for €17,000 and the shiny new electric one, costing €3m, took its place - sort of.

To be brief, it was a total failure (details in vid) and the old one had to be bought back for €100,000 and put into service while the new one is sorted out, but it's not certain that it ever will be!

I have a pretty good solar array on my property. Where you start running into issues is with storage, and inverters are far more fragile than OEM's would have people believe. They're basically like PC's--heat causes them to perform badly, or to shit the bed. They require covers/heat shielding/protection from the elements. Can't even imagine what ice would do to them.

That ferry was badly designed. They'd have been far better off setting up a solar array/charging station somewhere on the dock and charging batteries via that for use in the boat. Would have allowed them to build a standard seaworthy ferry that still ran on electric. Could have created an undercover seating/fishing area with panels on the roof, out of sight and out of mind. I will say the panels are very light, they're mostly just foam. I can see how this happened.

What's the saying--If you put the government in charge of the Sahara desert, in two months it would run out sand.

Here's another good take on the nonsense from last week.

What gets me is that thing cost 3M Euro.

Here we have a network of Ferrys, each clocks in at 3.7M$ AUD. Which is hundreds of thousands less than whatever that thing is. I'm no expert, but ours seem to be a lot more for the money.

Follow the money as they say.
And the red tape alone would cost a fortune.
