Surprise surprise! Company takes $16.9m from GE to recycle a dump full of wind turbine blades only too disappear, probably to one of those Caribbean islands that are now meant to be underwater, leaving said blades untouched in the field.

So, the idea is to stick a huge array of solar panels in the lake . . . . 😅

"Anyone who has ever owned a boat, particular a large boat which gets left in the water, knows what a harsh environment the sea can be. Some kind of failure was inevitable. If it hadn’t been a storm, there are plenty of other things which could have gone wrong.

Greens keep telling us we can expect more frequent and extreme superstorms – so what is the point of building vulnerable floating structures?

Plastics tend to disintegrate under tropical sunlight, especially when in contact with water or water spray. Ultraviolet from the sun drives exotic chemical reactions, which leads to chemical breakdown."

Why was Tiger being disingenuous with that information Mad Fish?
What does the word "disingenuous" mean"? Is it a bit like a man saying " I alas, don't think I ever saw such a thing happen before ever". It is never used in my business transaction, in my engineering transactions, Blue Mickey says it must be a new grant for keeping tadpoles waters in dry weather?

Nearly 40 years ago, I bought rock wool insulating wrapped in plastic. I left the wrapping in the attic where there was Velux windows. All that plastic disintegrated into dust. Broke down by some sort of sun driven bioloxigal action.

Disingenuous is a fine word that I often use online and occasionally in personal correspondence. It means artful, deceitful and insincere. I tend to deploy it when I want to accuse someone of lying but remain polite in doing so.

Some plastics, especially disposable ones used for wrapping, will decompose in sunlight, they are designed to do just that. The film that maize is planted under is a classic example of this. Other plastics are far more hardy, silage wrap for instance, has additives that absorb the UV end of the light spectrum to help prolong its life.

All plastics are not the same.

WEATHER modification programmes and other geo-engineering experiments to reverse ‘climate change’ can no longer be brushed off as the stuff of ‘chemtrail’ conspiracy theorists. In recent weeks concerns, catalysed by excess rainfall both here and in Dubai, have finally gone mainstream.

Climate change in action down at the south pole!

“On April 29, almost minus 80 degrees were measured at the Russian Vostok research station. Such extreme cold is rarely reached this early in the year,” reported wetteronline.de.

The record, -89.3°C, was recorded in the middle of winter, on July 21, 1983, thus making the last week’s late April reading very unusual.

“Values below minus 80 degrees in April are also extremely rare at the Earth’s cold pole and have only been recorded three times in the last 60 years,” wetteronline.de adds.

2 questions to clarify.

1) Why should a person who is good at art be deceitful? Was Shakespeare deceitful? Van Goff?

2) Why do you not use the word "insincere" rather than disingenuous? The former has only one "in" the latter has an "in" and a "dis" The former has 9 letters while the latter has 12.

Take the word ingenuous, an adjective meaning innocent, niaive. Why not say innocent.

So if a person uses deceit and tricks all the time, Disingenuous means he is not niaive which says a genuine person must be niaive. A genuine person does not have to be niaive at all.

The spelling can be "naive" also. IMO Disingenuous is a stupid word.

I agree "genuine" is a fine word and I know no replacement for for " not genuine" . It is a fault of the language. In my world we sometimes use the words "He is false"

I'll use the words I choose to, if you don't like it then you are going to have to live with it.

You're only saying Tubbercurry because its your hometown!

No its Kildare. Some say he's an ancestor of Slatttery's and that's where he gets his great eloquence from.

Good illustration here of the emerging difference between environmentalism and net zero.

One is about tree hugging, and I'd go along with a lot of it, and the other is purely an exercise in wealth transfer.

And we have seen this everywhere else, doing what can be got away with, rather than what is good for the citizenry, we are living in a vast political test tube.

. . . . the average cost of home charging is still on the up, but prices fluctuate hugely across the EU, with some countries seeing sharp drops and others experiencing steep hikes in 2023.

“This is largely due to government supports during the energy crisis and ever-changing global headwinds which impact countries differently:)ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:
(presently Ireland is planning loads more find farms on & off shore so the crack's got to be mighty) .
Although electricity costs are still historically high, energy prices have peaked and EVs are nowhere near as financially draining as petrol or diesel vehicles are to keep on the road. EV sales have seen a downturn recently as many governments phase out initiatives like purchase grants and tax benefits, but as motorists seek a haven from hefty fuel-pump prices it’s likely the EV market will rebound and continue to thrive. . .

Every step - A scam!

. . . Ireland is also still proving stubbornly expensive when it comes to the cost of public charging. At the moment, for pay-as-you-go customers, ESB eCars is charging 56c per kWh for slow charging, 64c per kWh for fast charging, and 68c per kWh for high-speed charging. These are the same prices that were being charged last August, when the company assured customers that the cost of public charging would fall before the end of 2023 thanks to the reductions in the cost of wholesale electricity.

Asked why the prices here have not fallen, a spokesperson for ESB eCars said: “Continuous investment is required . . .. Scam scam blah blah blah scam scam . . .🤪

They'll say anything to swing it . . .

"Wind Energy Ireland is attempting to head off planning challenges to their wind farms across the country by opening them up as tourist attractions.

Described as “Ireland’s most unique and undiscovered destinations” the wind farms are located right around the country." . . . .

. . . One wind farm at Mountlucas in Offaly has proven to be a popular tourist destination - with nearly 50,000 people visiting each year - where they get to see some of the incredible birds and other creatures who make their homes among the turbines.

And Galway Wind Park - which has won multiple awards - boasts 48km of walking trails for visitors of all ages and abilities in unforgettable scenery.

Now that the challenges & cancellations are mounting they've decided to open up to the public.

Previously, when camping in the Galway WP, I was constantly informed that I shouldn't be there by the engineers, most entrances were of course gated off to the public, but now . . . .

The sheer retardery of it all.
Can it get any more retarded?

What we need is a good old fashioned war to bury all this.....
