A major thing that USAID did was fund propaganda outlets against the government of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Arab Republic of Syria, etc often run by malcontents with little or no support within the countries in question. This has in turn led to a lot of corrupted to outright warped and utterly dishonest reporting in the West. It appears even that USAID has been funding mainstream media directly within the US.

Wasn't it said that it funded 8% of the BBC budget?

A significant portion of USAID's funding went to Europe and Eurasia, primarily to support Ukraine's war effort and reconstruction.

$17.2 billion in fact. Another channel for money to be shovelled into the proxy war.

Here we go -

Apparently a free press relies on being funded by a corrupt American aid agency which channeled $17.2 into Ukraine last year.
This is interesting, Eoghan McCabe who donated 200k to Trump campaign, is putting up 100k for anyone with information on whether RTE/Irish Times reporting is virtue signalling or something more sinister

USAID involvement in Ireland proper began with International Fund for Ireland (IFI) in the 1990s where just over half a billion euro worth of effective slush money was pumped into the post-conflict region to maintain community cohesion.

Both power and USAID played an important role in the backroom direction of Ireland’s diplomatic response to the Ukrainian invasion as many insiders complained about the co-opting of otherwise apolitical Irish NGOs by the U.S foreign policy establishment.

The Americans don't pump that kind of money in to a Country without wanting Pay-Back !
