The last time this happened I believe was in 1965 when the Southern States were embarrassing the USA in the context of the Cold War. A lot of Mexicans regard California as rightfully theirs hence deportations from there will have a different resonance for them than say deportations from Vermont. It will be interesting to see if this situation develops or dies down.

Just on the subject of California going to the dogs the last two refineries in the state are facing closure because the leftards basically want them shut down. This, it is said, could push petrol, sorry, gas prices up to around €1.84 a litre, which doesn't sound that horrendous to us Europeans, but in Texas its around €0.52 a litre.

Was listening to a podcast of American commentators this week. The line up included Tom Loungo of the Gold Guns and Goats podcast and others. Tom is very Pro Trump and other are more RINO types. Mostly they talk finance and markets and stuff, but this time they were on politics. The podcast was recorded before the LA stuff kicked off. They were very exercised about the attack on the Russian airbases and how senior figures from the American Deep State, like Lindsey Graham, Mike Pompeo had been in the Ukraine in the days before. They were convinced that these guys were there to green light the attack. That Trump was not aware of their intention and how the Logan Act should have been enacted to arrest Graham et al.

They were also saying that the moment is fast approaching where Trump is going to move into dictator mode or as they said 'King Trump' and that Trump would have the support of the people and more importantly the support of the military to do this. The podcast people were for it.

With the deployment of regular army to the streets now, and with the Sorosites planning protests in 1500 cities for this weekend, I wonder if actually this is the beginning of all that. I had thought that they were being rather fanciful, but now I think they might not be too far off

The cops were very quick to rule out loyalist paramilitary involvement, however they have started to draft in reinforcement 'police' from Scotland and England. So, now instead of the Unionist PM failing to enforce Law and Order from Stormont and getting Brit soldiers sent to patrol his streets, now we have a SF First Minister in Stormont failing to get a grip on Law and Order and having Brit 'police' sent to patrol her streets
