Right now the air is full of rumours and the fog of war, with respect to Iran.

Iran is a country which is obviously under a lot of pressure from US sanctions and periodic air attacks from Israel and even the US last year. Also it is closely allied to Hezbollah in Lebanon and was, until recently, associated with the government forces in Syria, with both allies also under pressure or completely collapsed, as in the case of Assad.

For the last few weeks it has suffered widely reported riots, caused, initially anyway, by a falling currency which led to the resignation of its Central Bank chief. But these riots seemed to have deepened and spread across the country.

Now the air is thick with rumours that the US military machine, particularly its air power, has pivoted suddenly back towards Europe in preparation for an attack on Iran. These rumours even include that Khamenei, its Muslim leader, has fled to Russia.

Sarsfields will have to cast its wary eye on these developments!

The Mullahs are tettering now. Protesters will be killed and the war is on. It looks very likely.

European airbases are also handy for Greenland.

There are a lot of transatlantic flights over my head today, sure enough.

If the Yanks are doing regime change, why don't they do regime change here in Ireland? Just arrest every government minister, bar Big Jim, and tell him to deport a million or so surplus foreigners. And we all lived happily ever after.

Well who knows what happens next, with even Mexico in the crosshairs in the opinion of some, but an Israel/Iran flareup seems the most likely.

Iran signalled a while ago that an attack on Hezbollah in Lebanon was equivalent to an attack on it, and there has been attacks into Lebanon by Israel repeatedly over the last few days. Also there is a lot of reports of people pulling out of Israel, particularly Russians, in the last few days. While Iran itself is coping with the protests and seems to have cut off some mobile phone and internet connections.

There is also references, I don't know how true, of Iran signalling that they are about to use missiles.

Anyway we seem to be at fever pitch these days!

Good news.

Are the Iran protests real or Mossad or a bit of both? The israelis probably are involved in both sides. And there is a very long term jewish population in Iran, some of whom could be enticed into working for the "homeland"

MSM has reported no dead protestors and that police stations have been attacked and police cars set on fire. A couple of hundred people would be enough to do a riot, presumably.

Red a few weeks ago in the Daily Telegraph that Tehran’s drinking water was at critically low levels & this could lead to popular unrest.

Indeed. They're also talking about hyperinflation.

you are right about the flights --when it getting close in the middle east 300 degrees is right over my house and a lot of transatlantic from Europe to the USA pass over my roof.
flight radar is useful but does not show the military flights to ordinary free mortals like me without subscription.
