A student nurse kicked off her course, career destroyed because she expressed a Pro-Life opinion on social media.
Not Putin's Russia but Starmer's Britain. This is the system of 'individual rights' that we should pay to uphold across their sphere?
Aye, right.
Would the UK be any worse if Vladimir Putin took over ? !

Aye, right.

The people in England now both De Lege and De Facto have significantly less Civil Liberties than people in the six counties which is a situation that would have seemed utterly surreal for most of the history of "Northern Ireland".

The ghouls in Brussels are determined to break Europe.

EU ‘rearmament’ plan has no funding – Euractiv

The proposal to increase defense spending by $840 billion is based largely on debt, according to the news outlet

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's attempt to increase military spending across the EU is not backed by cash and shifts the financial burden to member states, Euractiv has reported, citing senior EU officials.
The so-called ‘ReArm Europe Plan,’ backed mostly by debt and fiscal adjustments, asks EU nations to spend $840 billion, twice the EU’s 2024 defense budget, to counter “grave security threats.”
The plan “includes close to no fresh money,” leaving member states to secure “the real cash” themselves, Euractiv reported on Wednesday.
The total figure is based more on “hopes and guesses” than concrete reforms addressing the bloc’s production shortages, the report argued.
Von der Leyen has also proposed raising $158 billion through capital markets and offering it to members as loans on condition they buy weapons made in the bloc or its regional allies.
The requirement could involve at least three EU countries or two EU countries plus Ukraine. However, loan approval criteria and the prioritization of EU-made equipment remain undecided, the report pointed out.
Defense spending will be given an “escape clause” from EU budget rules, allowing governments to shift funds “rather than coming up with fresh money,” according to Euractiv.

While increased deficits could generate nearly $700 billion, it’s uncertain if the measure applies to all countries or only those meeting NATO’s 2% GDP target.
Another senior EU official told Euractiv that over time, governments must offset spending by raising taxes or cutting costs.
Von der Leyen’s push for increased defense spending comes amid growing pressure from Washington. US President Donald Trump has distanced himself from supporting Ukraine while urging the EU to take greater responsibility for its defense.
The shift intensified this week, with news agencies’ reports on Monday suggesting that Trump had ordered a pause in military aid to Kiev. The US president has repeatedly accused Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky of refusing to negotiate peace with Russia and exploiting US support for his own gain.
EU leaders will discuss von der Leyen’s proposals at a special summit on Thursday. According to a senior EU official, the measures should work “very fast and very efficiently” and require only a majority vote for adoption.
Some experts, however, warn that increasing military spending could strain national budgets already under pressure.

You are talking about a despot who took independent TV channels under state control, shut down satirical programmes, turned the entire process of Russian elections into a farce, stoked nationalistic fervour with the reinstatement of the Stalin-era Soviet national anthem, and putting the pomp and pageantry of the Russian Empire on the street as per my video above, indocrinating the "glory" of Russian history from Ivan the Terrible to Joseph Stalin, etc.
LOL
Those "independent TV channels" were on payroll from USAID as we recently learned

Also observing you goons and useful idiots under the thrall of his massive propaganda effort not only failing to see the pathologies in Putin's aspiring empire (as no media is permitted to cover it), only seeing our own failures - that while far, far less numerous and serious, are covered endlessly by our media, and amplified. Therefore you are so stupid that you think that coverage must mean Russia has less problems than we do.
Your problem is that without knowledge of the Russian language, you have to rely on Western propaganda to get information about Russia. There are many problems in Russia and they are more openly discussed than in the West

Nevermind the fact that the order we have in the West is composed of smaller, decentralised, autonomous states, cooperating by choice. As against Putin's model of a single massive state, imperialist, aggressive, archaic, nationalistic, massively centralised and monocephalous.
Reminds me of Soviet rhetoric just before the collapse of the USSR regarding "true democracy" in the USSR and rotten West

Yeah, we've heard that before.

"... This was the period when comrade Stalin presented his memorable recipe for peace that is the epigraph to this article. Stalin’s formulation was enthusiastically taken up by millions, some of them Communists, some loyal fellow-travelers, a number of them muddleheaded intellectuals, or hypocrites seeking popularity, or clerics hungry for publicity—not to mention professional campaigners, incorrigible fools, youths eager to rebel against anything, and outright Soviet agents. Surprisingly, this odd mixture constitutes a fairly sizable population in any Western society, and in no time at all the new peace campaign had reached grandiose proportions..."

"... Once they recognized the power of “peace” as a weapon, the Communists have never let go of it. In this respect, it must be admitted, Soviet politics have invariably been most “peaceful.” We must at the same time bear in mind that according to Communist dogma, wars are the “inevitable consequence of the clash of imperialist interests under capitalism,” and therefore they will continue to be inevitable as long as capitalism exists. The only way to save humanity from the evil of wars, then, is to “liberate” it from the “chains of capitalism.” Accordingly, there is a very precise distinction to be made between “just wars” and “unjust wars.” “Just wars” are those fought “in the interests of the proletariat.” It is perfectly simple and perfectly clear: just wars are absolutely justifiable because they lead to the creation of a world in which there will be no wars, forevermore. Proletarians are all brothers, are they not? So, once the world is rid of capitalists, imperialists, and various other class enemies, why should those who are left fight one another?"

And your man was going off about Communist conspiracies after the USSR committed suicide making out the EU was a Communist plot.

I read a note somewhere earlier today that a German politician declared that now all the car factories in Europe were having to close because of the EV mandate they should be converted to arms factories.

Can it get any more staggeringly idiotic I thought, only to find that it has already started -

No, I care about insidious mass psycho-social pathological currents in my own people, the Irish people.

And if that's too hard for you to read, here's a graphic representation to make it easier for you:

You're afraid of sites like this generating extremists? Via conspiracy theories?

I've also been vehemently calling out the degenerate radical left in all this. It is not quite the same phenomenon as what is going on with you chaps, but yes, there are similarities.

Yes--it's far worse, and far more dangerous. Reddit is the most trafficked site in the world. There is, quite literally, no larger virtual force for radicalizing people towards political and ideological violence in existence. Both the4 attempted Trump assassins had reddit accounts, and spent their days marinating in delusions of grandeur in far-left subs. They have recently deified Luigi Mangione, in fact. A million sarsfields could exist, and they wouldn't begin to approximate the level of radical-fomentation achieved by Reddit in a week.

ALL left-wing radicalization.

You don't understand the political and ideological landscape you're living in, Roc. You have fallen out of time, and your world view hasn't been relevant since approximately 2012. This is in fact why your side keeps taking L's. We already know what trajectory your narrative, and that of your ilk, is going to be before it goes on sale.

And it's already priced-in to our counters.

Yeah, I'd say you managed to fix him up good, to bury his message, when you couldn't directly get your hands on him. But there are others who corroborate him. Pacepa comes to mind. And the fact of his crimes doesn't neutralise the documents he smuggled out that evidenced his many revelations about KGB workings.

Rubio calls Ukraine conflict Russia-US ‘proxy war’

In contrast to the previous administration, President Donald Trump wants to be a “peacemaker” and end the hostilities, the secretary of state has said

The US views the Ukraine conflict as a prolonged “proxy war” between itself and Russia and is eager to bring it to an end, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said. Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, Rubio reiterated President Donald Trump’s commitment to being a “peacemaker” in the conflict, contrasting this approach with the previous administration’s policy of supporting Kiev indefinitely.
Rubio’s remarks come as relations between Washington and Moscow have begun to show some signs of thawing, particularly following the high-level talks in Saudi Arabia last month. Both sides have since criticized former US President Joe Biden’s handling of the conflict and have signaled a readiness to work toward a settlement.
“It’s been very clear from the beginning that President Trump views this as a protracted, stalemated conflict. And frankly, it’s a proxy war between nuclear powers – the United States, helping Ukraine, and Russia – and it needs to come to an end,” Rubio said. He argued that the West should move away from the previous strategy of sending Ukraine aid “for as long as it takes” without a clear resolution in sight.

“That’s not a strategy,” he said, urging all parties involved to commit to negotiations and peace.
Rubio also accused Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky of “sabotaging and undermining” Washington’s peace efforts. He was referring to last week’s tense meeting at the White House that ended abruptly after Zelensky resisted Trump’s demand to negotiate peace with Russia, prompting the US president to accuse him of “gambling with World War III.” Trump ordered the Ukrainian delegation to leave the White House, saying Zelensky could return when he was ready for serious negotiations. Washington has since also halted all intelligence sharing with Ukraine, and several US media outlets have reported that military assistance to Kiev has also been suspended.
However, on Tuesday, Trump said he had received a letter from Zelensky in which the Ukrainian leader expressed regret over the dispute and signaled his willingness to negotiate a peace deal. Rubio welcomed Zelensky’s shift in tone.
“I’m glad to see that there’s been a reconsideration of that position because I truly believe that this is a conflict that we need to find a way to end. And it’s going to require concessions from both sides, but we have to get them both to the table,” he said.

Moscow has long characterized the Ukraine conflict as a Western-led proxy war against Russia. Some Western politicians have also acknowledged the proxy-war dynamic. In late 2024, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson criticized the West for “waging a proxy war but not giving our proxies the ability to do the job” by not supplying Ukraine with enough military aid. Russia has consistently warned that continued Western support for Kiev would only prolong hostilities rather than bring about peace.

Berlin has run out of weapons for Kiev – German Defense Ministry

Spokesman Michael Stempfle has stressed that Germany needs to focus on its own defenses and those of its European allies

Germany has reached the limit of its capacity to supply weapons to Ukraine from its own Bundeswehr arsenals, according to Michael Stempfle, the official spokesperson for the German Ministry of Defense.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, Stempfle was asked about the further transfer of Patriot systems and other weapons from German arsenals to Ukraine. He stated that while Berlin has already delivered many systems to Ukraine, there is a “natural limit to this.” He emphasized that Berlin also needed to strengthen the nation’s own defense capabilities and make sure its European allies are “well positioned.”
He said that the process of ensuring Germany’s own defenses was “running parallel to the Ukraine support.”
Germany has been one of Kiev’s most significant supporters since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022 and has provided substantial military and financial aid to the country, to the tune of some €44 billion ($47 billion) according to the German government. The assistance has included Leopard tanks, Panzerfaust 3 anti-tank rockets, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, and Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled armored vehicles.

While it is unclear what Stempfle’s disclosure will mean for future German military aid deliveries, it comes at a time when Kiev may face additional difficulties on the battlefield after Trump reportedly cut off Washington’s support.
Several US outlets have claimed that Trump ordered all weapons deliveries to Kiev put on hold following his public spat with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky last week. The suspension reportedly includes critical weaponry such as battle tanks, long-range missiles, and air defense systems. Washington has also brought all intelligence sharing with Kiev to a halt, according to CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
Zelensky has expressed concerns over the suspension of foreign military aid, stating that Ukraine’s ability to sustain its defense without external support is limited.
Russia has consistently criticized Western military aid to Ukraine, arguing that it prolongs the conflict without altering its outcome. Moscow’s officials have repeatedly stressed that such support only escalates tensions and hampers prospects for a peaceful resolution.

Trump aides secretly meeting with Zelensky rivals – Politico

Veteran politicians are reportedly seeking favor in Washington following the Ukrainian leader’s recent missteps

Senior members of US President Donald Trump’s administration have engaged in back-channel communications with political rivals of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Politico reported on Thursday, citing insider sources.
Zelensky, whose presidential term expired last year, has suspended elections due to martial law, and has refused to transfer presidential authority to the parliament speaker, contravening the constitution.
Undisclosed conversations with former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko and former President Pyotr Poroshenko have revolved around restarting elections, according to three Ukrainian MPs and a Republican foreign policy expert who spoke anonymously to Politico.
Trump has characterized Zelensky as a “dictator without elections,” while members of his team have accused the Ukrainian leader of obstructing the US president’s peace agenda through his inflexibility. Some American officials have publicly called for Zelensky to step down after a contentious meeting at the White House last Friday.

Publicly, Timoshenko and Poroshenko back Zelensky’s leadership in the conflict with Russia. However, behind closed doors, Ukrainian political figures are reportedly positioning themselves to gain favor with Washington.
Timoshenko was serving a seven-year prison term for abuse of power when the 2014 armed coup in Kiev led to her early release. Last month, Zelensky imposed sanctions on Poroshenko, along with exiled opposition leader Viktor Medvedchuk.
On Tuesday, Zelensky expressed his commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict, lamenting that his meeting with Trump had not gone “the way it was supposed to.” Although Zelensky has not admitted to any doing anything wrong, the US president referenced his statement in an address to a joint session of Congress later that day.
Ahead of Trump’s speech, the Ukrainian parliament issued its own public message to the US president, commending his leadership and urging him to maintain “unwavering support” for Kiev. MP Nikita Poturaev, a hardline Zelensky supporter, denounced the conciliatory statement, highlighting the turmoil among Ukrainian lawmakers.

The Trump administration has halted arms supplies to Ukraine and ceased sharing military intelligence. While US European allies have pledged continued support for Kiev, they have also acknowledged that their capacity to assist is severely constrained without US backing. Russian forces already held an advantage in the conflict prior to these policy shifts from Washington.

Outside of small circles of Prod Trade Unionists in the North and PIRA Volunteers who did not necessarily get on with each other the Soviet Union was very unsuccessful at getting influence in Ireland. The Russian Federation of course is very different to the Soviet Union which is something that a lot of people in the West have trouble acknowledging- and one of the ways it is different is that the Soviet Union was a lot better at external propaganda and gaining influence outside it's borders. If the Russian Federation is trying to have influence in Ireland which I doubt is true than it would be towards having Dublin not join NATO and not allow homosexualist militants to oppress Orthodox Christians- things which I firmly believe are in Ireland's interests to not do and do anyway.
