You really need to pay attention to what the astute Russian milbloggers have been saying.

I mostly follow neutral sources. The reality is Ukraine hasn't accomplished anything significant as yet, the counteroffensive has been a fizzle. You're on her making mountains out of molehills and molehills out of mountains. Bakhmut being a case in point. It was actually a strategically enormous win for Russia. If it wasn't, the AFU wouldn't have spent so many human and other resources trying to defend it. As things stand, Ukraine has lost far, far more in this war than Russia has gained. Ukraine is not winning.

But then they would have to fight the Russians in another city on the next RU attack westwards.
