Indeed, drones have totally changed the face of warfare. It's been noted before that the MIC might just have met it its nemesis in the form of swarms of low tech guided bombs which can be knocked up in a garden shed while hugely expensive and highly complex planes sit impotently on the tarmac due to said bombs littering the runway with FOD.Honestly based on all the footage I've seen and continue to see, it's more or less the case that everything that isn't drones is either redundant or is about to become obsolete. This includes shock troops. Truly does make one wonder how far away we are from a situation where human beings are more or less totally disconnected from the physical side of warfare.
Armies have to be of a size that they can take casualties and still fight on. If there are few, if any, soldiers on the front line armies can be smaller and cheaper, and so on.
Maybe the MIC might want to call a stop to this conflict before it becomes a little too obvious to its customers that it is now irrelevant.
