There lies within all this an inherent contradiction, a circle that NATO is trying to square and can only fail miserably, or it can simply lie.

On the one hand we are told that the Russian army is weak and ineffective, it is ill equipped and relies on poorly trained conscripts, in other words it is a total push over. Two weeks years later the narrative has changed to demands for large sums of money to be spent on defending Europe from a Russia that has the capability and desire to overwhelm the combined forces of the European countries and drag the continent into its totalitarian maw.

Well, which is it?

Of course, the fact that the US army is fast losing its own effectiveness due to a manpower crisis is neither here nor there, despite one obvious solution being to expand its recruitment catchment area through the use of proxy European armies that are safely ensconced within NATO, over which it has ultimate control.

Air raid alarms were declared over entire Ukraine during night and morning hours. Explosions were reported in Dnepr, Kiev, Lvov, Odessa, Kharkov, Kiev-controlled city of Zaporozhye, as well as in Khmelnitsky and Ternopol regions.

The Ukrainian Air Force admitted they have not seen so many airborne targets simultaneously for a long time.

"We have not seen so much red - red being enemy targets - for a very long time," Air Force Spokesman Yury Ignat said on Ukrainian TV.

According to the spokesman, radar displays had targets over almost the entire airspace, "in all regions and in all directions." The Air Force press office also called the Friday series of explosions the most massive.

It's discipline training, so if/when they're captured by enemy they'll have been toughened up to take the flak, it's war and a reminder what the penalty for desertion is - on site training for the distracted inexperienced recruits - makes tougher soldiers?

It's a case of making the Russian population feel the pain. You can't keep bombing Ukrainian hospitals, malls and apartment complexes forever without expecting the other side to hit back in return.

It also demonstrates that Putin cant protect his population. Remember this was a drone strike, so should much easier to deal with than hypersonic missiles. I guess Russias SAM cover is completely degraded now.

We both know that hospitals are very rarely if ever targeted/hit, in fact out of last nights Russian barrage at most it appears to be 40 killed which is low and certainly not hitting apartment complexes forever.

Of course there is, cities and regions located within the conflict zones of Eukraine have been forewarned in good time within days of advancing Russian forces, usually the Wukrainians have the good sense to evacuate the civilian populations out of harms way( sending 100,000 to Ireland - millions to Europe)

Sometimes the Wukrainian Army have opted to fight within populated cities (human shields), be it on their conscience.
