I know its surprising Sir. Conservative Catholics in Ireland normally wouldn't know one end of a ball from the other. Their maximum exposure to sport is normally a game of dominoes down the Legion of Mary club.

But Tiger may be an exception to that rule. Or, as often happens, someone had a ticket who couldn't be arsed to go and it fell in his lap (y)

You seem to be making a habit of being wrong these days Myles.

I coach the youth team at one of the biggest clubs in Dublin. I have a UEFA B licence.

Big game for Scotland now they need to get something out of this game

I expect @free and clean will be belting out a rousing rendition of flower of Scotland

To the tune of Flower of Scotland

Oh David Celery, when will we see
Your like again?
You came to Helsinki
To spread L-G-B-T

And stood against them
Who called you a bender
And waved the rainbow
For all to see.

Was in the bathhouses, you came to life
your queerness laid bare
Your scrawny arse pounded
Without a thought for your wife

We love you David
Your grace and flamboyance
Don't ever leave us
LGBT for life.

All the commentators and analysts saying Scotland should've had a penalty. Even in real time I could see it wasn't.

The player was clean through and instead of shooting he decided to step over and try and win a penalty. Both players ended up in a bundle on the ground.

The rest is history as the Scots crash out of the group stages yet again.

Scotland weren't good enough , they didn't have a single clear cut chance ......you can have all the possession you want but it's no good without the final ball

That number 13 now .....the number of times they have failed to get out of the group at major competition

How could they concede that late , the Italians should have fouled out the field to break up that counter ......I knew they were going to score , it's classic Italy

It’s insane how badly England are performing with that group of players.

If Ireland had 4 or 5 of their players we’d be hoping to get to the final at least.

Southgate is more of a group counseling therapist I think, putting his arm around each player as they get hooked because they were shit, and talking about togetherness etc.

He hasn't a clue how to set up a team to play football🙂

Got Middlesbrough relegated and flopped as the Under 21's manager. What qualifies him for the job?

Their relative success in recent tournaments has been despite him.
The FA love him because he's well-spoken, good with the media and seems to keep his squads happy.

How they haven't realised he's holding back the most talented group of players England have had for a generation I don't know!

Perhaps they have now...

I have to say I am finding the Euros very boring.

Scotland which by far was the most fun team is already on holiday and the rest of the Tournament seems a tad dull.

The only team I have a slight sense of cheer for is Austria who are punching well above their weight.

England are being shown up as the most overrated team in the game.

Also, Cole Palmer was one of the best players in the league last year, and he brings him on for less than 20 minutes? Utter madness.

Agreed. I’d have Palmer and Ollie Watkins in the starting line up.

Kane is too slow for international football, in terms of stretching the team. He’s too deep.

Denmark go through in second – thanks to a yellow card shown to Slovenia coach

In a bizarre turn of events in Group C, Denmark finished in second place because of a yellow card shown to a member of Slovenia’s coaching staff earlier in the tournament.

After goalless draws against Serbia and England respectively on Tuesday night, Denmark and Slovenia both ended the group on three points, with the same goal difference of zero.

In usual circumstances, the number of goals scored would determine which team finishes highest in the group. Except Denmark and Slovenia were level on that metric, too, with two goals each.

From there, it comes down to disciplinary records during the tournament. But at full-time of their respective games, both sets of players had received six yellows in the group. Again, they could not be separated – until a booking for one of Slovenia’s coaches, in the game against Denmark, proved to be decisive.

18 yellow cards and 2 red cards in the Czech-Turkey game last night, lol. Good game.

Here's how the knockout stage looks:

How come so many games involving the Turks end up in being nasty ill-tempered affairs = = Answer = = It because, its The Turks !
I've hated them ever since Ireland played them in a qualifier years ago, their fans physically assaulting Irish players after final whistle. Fans always booing/whistling when the opposition has possession, throwing stuff at players taking a corner etc while their players do nasty tackles and 'shithousery' unsporting antics etc.
