he would very rarely allow a discussion --- he was interred in a Australian concentration camp after the war along with 10 of thousands of high ranking British soldiers as after the war the British believed they had tens of thousands of secret Nazi agents amongst them --despite my uncle working for the allies during all the war a Czechoslovakian born British army major spoke at his funeral and we discovered he was there for almost 2 years and was only allowed back to the isle of man .
there an extraordinary event took place --my Letrim born aunt had to describe him fully and document him as did they make him document her and they lined up thousands of women on one side and thousands of men on the other and one by one the women only--- had to pick out their husband from the thousands and get it right first time.

were not recovered either even though there is a film about this where the Germans recruited a team of expert forgers to do this job and it took them a full year to find out how the British made the famous paper for their currency which everyone had failed to copy as even a blind man could tell the real thing simply by rubbing the paper .
the secret was the English had 10 secret small companies which gathered old rags and clothes and sorted them and shredded them and they achieved a 20% linen content in the paper for printing currency amongst other cloth ingredients which emerged under a microscope and added to the texture .
England was totally broke after WW2 and lost its empire and was very vulnerable -- this was a Jewish war and Hitler invaded Germany not Poland as he invaded Prussia and Danzig now known as Gdansk which had 99% German population and were stolen by Poland after WW1 .

The idea that a huge number of Jews were disposed of in a relatively, and I hesitate to use the word, humane manner, will quietly obscure the fact that many were purposefully worked to death.

From an economic point of view a human that is alive represents an energy store that can still be utilized. Germany was short of energy, so it is logical to get these captives to expend that last energy in doing work, building defences, roads or whatever. Not sure how efficient it would be by the time you have allowed for the transport to the site and the corpses to be buried somewhere, but who knows what they were thinking!

Are stories of millions being gassed just a cover to deflect from what was really going on?

the flea which carried typhus killed more Jews/ Europeans than any other source.
the gas zxylon b was made by the Americans to delouse army barracks and jails and other institutions such as mental homes .
inmates/soldiers/pupils were shaved firstly then showered and given new clothes and their previous clothes were hung in special rooms for gassing and delousing and them they were washed .
the big problem was delousing each barracks and sleeping quarters .
this gas was exposed and the doors were closed for a full day and then all windows and doors were open for a full day to remove any traces of the gas.
world wide the same measures were taken to delouse using the very same gas in all locations .
photos of various camps in 1945 omit the chimneys later built by the Russians which today are stated to be cremation ovens .
this photographic evidence is only debated amongst groups which have been arrested and who spend time in various jails for questioning the event -and is never publicly discussed .
the camp commandant of Auschwitz has stated the shower rooms and chimneys were built by the Russians 7 years after WW2 and he removed the previous plaque showing the deaths and installed a newer one showing a new figure a fraction of the previous.

For what it's worth Wikipedia puts the figure at between 200,000 to 300,000 people deported eastwards by the Russians in 1940, and by no means were they all Jewish, though quite how they identified those that should be sent east is not clear.

The Germans on the other hand had the Hollerith tabulating system which was basically an analogue database that identified Jews and their families through cross referencing the records. It was owned and operated by the German subsidiary of IBM.

MY uncle never spoke about it however my aunt had a great sense of humor and one of my cousins was moaning about life today and how hard it is to meet somebody --she related the story of taking a train and ferry to the isle of man and being asked to identify Kurt from thousands ---she said i could have had my pick of thousands that day .
the whole event took a week and the happy couple returned to Streatham London .
my uncle could speak 9 languages fluently and 3 more with a good knowledge .
we nicknamed him ""you beat me to it" as we tried and tried but we could never get him to buy a drink in a bar and his great thrill was to observe our incurable thirst and round system to cope ,
his certain wisdom that the average Irishman when finished a pint must refill without a moments delay or he starts to fret and perspire as if in the Sahara and is in real danger of dehydration.

its only when you hear somebody from his time and culture do you realize it is another planet -where people really work for a living with great commitment and professionalism which we would find impossible and exhausting to commit to .

most people went to mass using horses in my childhood and John--R left my class aged 10 to work in the mines where we saw him picking low grade coal from a conveyor belt whizzing under him .
the local English landlords the Wandesfords were still in residence in the town and all the top management of the mines were English .
We had a cricket and a tennis club in the town and i did not know a person who had flown in a plane --we went to Cobh to collect family from america .
and everyone was buried using a completely over the top Cadillac or Plymouth hearse from america .
shops had the basics only bread milk jam butter and sardines and some farm veg thrown on the floor where a shovel was used to fill your bag .
pennies were huge - English and Irish and were legal tender some were completely worn away and some dated from the 1800s and some were simply blank washers but were legal tender .
you could get a bag of sweets for a penny --240 pence in the pound = 1.27 euros making it a half cent = a penny which could buy something .
a mans wage was 20 pounds = 25.4 euros per week .
the town had 2 cobblers who repaired your boots when worn out and fitted horseshoes to some to make them last .
they were frequently asked to do the impossible and they coped -their floor was home to thousands of shoes/boots repaired but not collected as some people had no money.
there was huge drunkenness and violence and horses/jennets/asses frequently brought many a comatose man home to his door miles away .
during the summer you hopped on a hay bogie and let it take you where ever it was going with a cock of hay drawn by a horse and the farmers often liked the company of a few kids sitting on the rear --you then got home the same way on something going the other direction .
we roamed across the countryside as kids and were sometimes gone the whole day --everyone did it --you just wandered and gawked at everything .
there was no fear -our relations who had farms fed us with huge sacks of turnips and sacks of cabbage and potatoes and eggs --we ate a number of rabbits per week and homemade country butter and buttermilk .
we went fishing at least twice a week and caught a lot of trout some peel some salmon .
i aged 10 had to shovel 16 tons of manure onto the garden and i grew lettuce carrots -parsnip spuds cabbage vegetable marrows on the riverbank and black and red currants and celery .
we ate well and there were no supermarkets nor any need for supermarkets we had everything and it tasted great .
nobody spread fertilizer and the rivers were full of fish and shrimp and crabs and otters .
we ate game pheasants and pidgins which hung for 10 days and had a strong taste .
life was good if you had some money and farming relations .
our jumpers were hand me downs with a huge amount of wool on the elbows and we all were penniless and wore hand me downs which did not fit us-- somebody well dressed or in clothes bought for their use stood out like communion day when we all wore new clothes for the first time but the following day we were back in rags .
we were happy and nobody troubled us .
