There really was no logic to this war, he basically took a giant dump on the planet and will walk away soon. Make you wonder why he spoke to the nation with nothing new to add? Probably something to do with the refinery feedstock. Not all crude oils are the same and the yield of diesel will vary from each. From memory it's the heavier crude that come from the Middle East while the American shale oils are lighter. Refineries are having to mix the heavy stuff into the new oils to ensure the refineries work efficiently.

Because western europe in general is fucked fuel wise, but Ireland hopes Britain and Norway keeps sending oul and the bit they get from Western Africa.

But even in the best case scenario, they will pay market prices and look, at the jump this morning in west Texas intermediate oil. Brent is maybe even bigger

There is less “give” in the demand for diesel as well.

A lad can cut back on driving a decent bit and car poool and cycle or walk etc, or luas or bus .

But a farmer must farm and a trucker must truck, regardless of, so they pay

In a way it's a blessing we didn't start a nuclear programme 20 years ago as technology has moved on and a new generation of power plants can now be made smaller and safer, especially with the requisite that the primary function of plants (enriched uranium production) no longer applies.

its all a sick joke --when the straits were closed they sent the drivers home and from one depot they had 6 x 100,000 gal tanks of diesel .
the maths are as follows send your drivers home park up your trucks .
100,000 gals = 450,000 lt x 6 = 2,700,000 lt x 50 cent per liter approx profit for just looking at it for 2 weeks = 2.7 million 50cents = 1.35 million euros for doing fuck all for two weeks .
just stare at the tanks and sing to yourself with a bottle of champagne in each hand .
costs are less your drivers wages and running costs from one depot and there are 5 in kilkenny and they all did the same .
at least a million euros profit per depot .
diesel is the life blood not petrol -there is not a petrol truck / petrol bus .
none of these people give a shit we are merely prey to them .

I had family out that way..stayed with them a few months and could have stayed if not for affairs of the heart elsewhere. This was long ago and it still had a frontier vibe. Big skies and very few humans...thing I missed the most was our Irish drizzle - so moisturising😇

you could start again in the morning and write a thousand books and they would all be read .
our nature is to give ourselves and some call it madness but it is glorious madness.
i was very lucky i got married in my 40s to mary who had such a great smile to the kids she passed .
i asked a kid on my bus to ask her where she worked as we met each other each morning as she walked to work and the whole bus was in on the romance .
we had long chats well into the night and we decided to go to india on a holiday together for a month and we said if we stick each other and survive india it will settle things .
i thought i picked my moment well and i formally proposed in the garden of the taj mahal -- and she turned me down-- it was some kick in the arse and i learned my first lesson -this lady is for real and will not be impressed by romantic sentiment --it will have to be real and in time as i waited and we got to know each other better --she got more sure and committed .
it was a great lesson for me and it was a great help to me to know it was for real and not a temporary arrangement .
love is a slower process than normally described and children exhaust parents but bind them also and we love each other and treasure each other more each day as our life changes around us .
you still make mistakes but the speed you correct them is the thing to watch .
and my final words on the subject to anyone younger than myself .
nothing matters -- money -looks property -job - nothing matters except kindness and hard work.
if you both are kind in nature and you both are workers then all and i mean all will be fine -- nothing else matters .
