Seems very early days for Thorium. Its still fisson and that is always going to be difficult to sell that to people except in China where the government can just force it through.
 
For at least the last ffifty years fusion power has been just twenty years away....Zzzzzz

To me it's quite simple. If I want to talk about science I'll talk about science. And I don't mean using AI to write my posts like you (and @Tiger) do.

I had a great thread on another site, that I made myself, talking about bendy spacetime (general relativity) that I was hoping to show to @Hermit one day. But alas, it was deleted. As was I and my friend Sword. I'm hoping to fix that here..

Sword banned from an online forum? I assumed the reason she left Sarsfield's was because she was pissed off with the carry-on of some people here, yourself included. She must have had some gripe anyway for her to suddenly quit posting here.

Do you remember that I noticed in your posts that they always had - That's not X, it's Y, type sentences? I didn't even know at the time that that's a tell-tale sign of AI (@Hermit actually posted something about it afterwards)..

I have to say that it's a little bit delicate, Hermit

And I'm in a certain amount of turmoil because what she told me, she told me by PM (on a different site) and it's sort of an unwritten rule that that's private.

I do think though that I have good intentions, which I think would align with yours - we'd both like to see her back posting again, so I will answer your question, you asked me -

So what your saying is ~ ~ There is no need to be going on with this Climate Change Con and new technologies will fix all or our energy needs and we can just get on with our lives.

New and better technologies such as, Fusion / Geothermal ( deep Geothermal ) / maybe small modular reacters / Thorioum reacters / etc etc etc

So = = Time to call off the Climate Change Con = = Obviously.

Well, Clarkey, you can see how the move to other tech like renewables is making a difference in that we might, just might, be able to avoid total absolute runaway climate change.

It would be best to stop all CO2 emissions though. Fusion offers a way to do that by allowing fusion power plants to replace fossil fuel power plants for base load at least.

But we arent quite there yet. ITER doesnt get to first plasma for another 9 years, for example.

There is no great hurry ~ ~ 30 or 50 years will have no effect ( certainly human effect ) on the Climate of the planet.

I see the problem.

Weather is not the climate. I learned in that in Inter Cert Geography.

What grade did you get in that subject?

I was an Honours Student while I was interested in school.

In the top 5% in those aptitude tests they used to do in Schools back in the day ~ Do they still do those aptitude test is schools ? !
