I'm strongly against burning - it's a great inconvenience to everyone else. Surely just smashing all the windows on a house is just as effective in encouraging foreigners to leave? And a lot less inconvenient to everyone else.

The reason people are particularly riled by this case (apart from the savagery of the attack), is because the individual in question had fled war torn France, arrived in war torn Dublin and subsequently fled to Northern Ireland to claim asylum. In other words he had passed through two countries before pretending he was a refugee. He was then granted "leave to remain". In other words, he had no case but was allowed to stay anyway.

The same thing happens here with loads of asylum shoppers who have no genuine case. Instead of being deported, they're granted leave to remain and housed among the general population.

Now, can you and gobshite #2 understand why local people have an issue with this kind of thing? In other words, can you and gobshite #2 understand why local people don't want undocumented, dishonest asylum shoppers being housed in their communities?
