I propose non-injurious whipping.

The reason for my enthusiasm is that pain is a wonderful help to training people, even if they don't want to be trained. It works with clever people, stupid people and even for black brown and jewish people. It is an excellent way to train psychopathic people to imitate the behaviour of good people.

I have a hypothesis: Whipping reduces recidivism. It would great to test this. For one year, any person convicted of anything gets a whipping as well. I suspect our native criminal Lumpen Proletariat would "get with the programme" very quickly.

I suffered a couple of painful cuts from a bow saw in '78 and that pain trained me to be more careful.

It is important that the whipees get a full and fair trial. The public humiliation part is even more important than the infliction of pain. It should be a different person doing each whipping.

The basic problem with thieves, liars, thugs, rapists, etc is bad attitude. Let's see if a litlle tickle with a whip changes that attitude...

years ago I was in India and we sat down in a hotel and watched the local news and then to BBC world service to see was there anything happening at home .
we were mesmerised by the local news and the provincial head of India's police force was being interviewed and high ranking Indian officials tend to use 200 years old Dickensian very formal English .
and we were looking at a satellite photo of an area south of a city which had an outbreak of an Ebola type plague where most of the residents of the city had left/abandoned their homes/fled as fast as they could.
the satellite photos showed a grey herd approaching the city --this herd was vast in size and was spread over miles .
I wondered what was this approaching a city with Ebola and I was sure the chief of police shouted WE ARE READY FOR THE MISCREANTS into the camera .
I asked a local what is going on and he said there are quarter of a million thieves approaching the city across country as the roads are blocked by police .
I stared at him and said this is the herd --and he smiled yes this is the herd -I asked how will they cope with 250,000 thieves ---he again smiled and said they will destroy them and beat them into pulp as they have the Indian army with them and they will release all of their aggression on them and beat them to a pulp and break all the bones in their back and legs and limbs.

I am only relating this to illustrate that the criminal class are professional criminals and know no other life and are not deterred by Indian police who carry 6 ft long poles which are swung through the air as hard as they can and when they land THEY DO BREAK BONES AND SKULLS as this is the stated aim of using a 6 ft staff to beat a person quickly into submission and quickly move onto the next person .
corporal punishment does not work in some countries and the chopping off of hands of the thief does stop MOST thieving in Arab countries BUT NOT ALL as there is a breed of person who is destined to be a scumbag no matter what .

It happened in the town of Duxbury. That is in Plymouth County, so the court is in the county town, which is the town of Plymouth.

Obviously it won't work all the time. But it will work some of the time. And it will be fun and we can make money off it.

Singapore cane people if they outstay their visas or if they employ illegal foreigners. There isn't really a problem with immigration in Singapore...

It is true that corporal punishment does not necessarily deter people from crime. People commit horrific death sentence crimes in countries with capital punishment.

However, punishment should not only be about the criminal and determent. There is also the direct victim of the crime and society in general. I think it's important that they get to feel an appropriate level of justice and closure. Whipping, combined with public humiliation, might not straighten out every scumbag or deter others, but it would deter some and would at least feel cathartic for some victims.

I think it would be more satisfying to see scumbags acting the hard man get fucking humiliated in a public flogging than see them get dozens of convictions that do nothing to deter them. Many of these scumbags are not afraid of prison, some even like it, but they won't like physical pain and public humiliation. I think corporal punishment would definitely deter a lot of those council estate scumbags from anti-social behaviour - they only do it now because no one is allowed to stand up them vigilante-style and the Gardai and legal system do fuck all.

Those videos where some guy is acting the dickhead and someone knocks him out are very satisfying. Imagine if a scumbag hurt you or someone you care about, would you not want to see them get a beating? I would.

Hardly the most valid of conclusions. Is the crime rate in Singapore any lower than in similar countries with similar cultures? What other deterrents are there? For what crimes is corporal punishment used and are the rates for these crimes significantly lower than elsewhere? etc etc.
 
We need to start a whipping thread!

Singapore is both too harsh and far too wimpy with the whipping. They draw blood on the third strike. We should be able to figure out a way to cause maximum pain without drawing blood. And they don't whip women or u-18 or over 50. Plus they do it private, whereas we should do with full publicity.

They gave Our Guy Michael Fay valium both before and after.



Very important point about the cathartic value to the victims of seeing their persecutors suffering and hearing their screams of agony.

Even if whipping doesn't reduce crime at all, it is worth re-introducing for the restorative justice aspect.

The travelling community is giving a huge finger to society in general, that's for sure, demonstrating, once again, that they live outside of the neat conformist box that the rest of us inhabit. I guess they have taken the view that attack is the best form of defence.

They might also point out that although four are accomplices to the theft of the car only one is responsible for driving it and he is now dead while another was, apparently, in care, so who is to be chased for compo, if it were possible?

Any word on the progress of the injured? Seems to have quiet on that front, hopefully they are recovering well.

The UK is desperate to prove that it still has some military clout, but it has none at all. The Navy was sent north to flex some muscle off the Russian coast in July, one aircraft carrier and err.. a couple destroyers (it only has 11 nowadays). There were only a dozen planes when it should have around 40 aircraft minimum on board. A total farce which must have had Putin trembling in his socks, with laughter.
