Ukraine.

Yeah...

I'm going to take this with a few kilograms of salt, given that our side of the aisle was reporting that Russians were out of ammo and fighting the Ukies with shovels in Bakhmut before subsequently encircling and isolating it. If that did actually happen...well, Ukraine might as well sue for peace right now.

FTA:- "There’s no money or manpower to make T-14s, and there are no parts, either."

Exactly, resources and training now evolves around next generation weaponry. Things have moved on as expected.
Tank crews are said to be delighted with the new stuff!

Good post and I listen to McGregor too. I can say that I am surprised at there being a shortage of ammo anywhere.

8 years ago I used to buy good rifle ammunition called Barnaul made in Russia. The powder was a bit dirty but
it cost half that of western stuff. Then sanctions about 2015 ended it. The USA is full of ammo factories,
so too in Germany and Czech
It's a question of scale most probably, a cartridge needs a few grams of explosive, a shell a few kilograms. Are these factories geared up for large scale production? Most probably not and that is where the problem lies.

I get the impression that after the cold war governments decided that they only need the production capacity to maintain a dwindling inventory of ammunition, so the industry was left to whither on the vine. Part of this thinking was that they had been convinced that any war would be all high tech and over in a day or two, but, as we have seen, they were grievously wrong.

Add to this the fact that the defence industry will have lost the capability to suddenly ramp up production of what it considers legacy weapons, and the ammo shortage becomes a lot more understandable. A few months ago it was reported that the companies concerned had demanded top dollar to switch back to making shells, who can blame them, it will need a huge investment and they will want a guaranteed return.

Of course, one way of ensuring that investment pays off is to have a lot more wars going forward......

Looks like the corrupt Ukrainian shitehole has has it's time as the current thing and is about to be replaced by the failing American banking system.

The stuffed suits of the corporate world are getting all distracted by ESG, whatever that actually is.

Look. Russia has already reverse engineered these drones. The US knows this. They send one as a provocation into Russian Airspace, it gets shot down and retrieved. The US can now say these drones are useless to the Ukraine and not send them. Same reason Israel stalled on sending Iron dome technology.🤷‍♀️ Both were just funding black holes.

I read a week or so ago now that the Russkis have been sending drones and other military tech to Iran so they can back-engineer it. Not good especially now that the Saudis and Iran have buddied up under the negotiating powers of China. We're seeing the collapse of US hegemony in real time.

Yes, I think this is what we are witnessing. I'd still be distrustful of Saudi. Call it a hunch. Russia is capable of reverse engineering themselves, but obviously they are going to share with their allies, who will be engineering arms for Russia's use anyways. US hegemony has been in collapse since before this war. This war has nothing to do with it really, but it will be used as a cloak.

"The 103rd Armored Repair Plant near Chita proved unable to repair 23 T-62 tanks in a month, as planned by order of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This is reported by Defense Express.

Deputy of the Russian State Duma Andrei Gurulev talked about the details of the restoration and modernization of the T-62 tanks. The factory received a contract to modernize 800 tanks over 3 years. In order to meet the deadlines, it should produce 22-23 tanks per month. However, it doesn’t seem like it is able to achieve that level of production."
So what, how many tanks is Zelensky getting hold of?

What are the choices here?

Russia accidentally downed a US drone in International waters?

Russia deliberately downed a US drone in International waters?

What's more damning?
Pick. Who cares? Its not as if the US is in a position to do anything. Merely reflects the loss of standing and authority of the US.

All America has left is it's international terrorism and it's dirty military industrial complex.
The kip is well north of $35 tillion in debt, re-running its 1960's race wars combined with its men can have babies and 92 gender nonsense.

It hates itself and with good reason.

No wonder certain dickheads worship the kip.

I seen a quote from Michelle O'Neill yesterday say that with Joe Biden's visit the eyes of the whole world will be on Northern Ireland. I thought that it was a bit of stretch to think that the daily schelude of Biden would grab the imagination of many. Biden in NI is not exactly China brokering a deal with Saudi and Iran.

Michelle is a bit of a star struck provinicial.

When it comes to these things pre-verificaton I take the epistemological attitude towards them that I do for heaven. I just pretend it's real, whilst privately doubting it.
It gets even more bizarre
