With Bakkmutt captured and the supply route closed off, the Russians can simply pull back and let them run out of gas and food after a week. Then they can bomb them as the reports now are that they basically control the sky as the uke air defenses are depleted.

Easter is a good time for the Pope or someone to propose peace and Zellensky will be worried about getting ousted.

I looked for this 'Bakmut' hamlet on google earth but cannot find it? It cannot be very important. Surely it must be some little 2 bit backwater and its 'defence' no more than the only person in a uniform ie. the local postman.

You'd be hard pushed to find a map of the world that shows Ireland as one country but we know it is. Citing the cartography section of the Seppo Empire merely shows other rooms of the house that need cleaned.

Greece is called Greece. Not Macedonia. Moreover, the article 'The' refers to a region or a conglomerate, or an otherwise grouping of things, not a singular nation. 'The' is generally a prefix for a collective noun, e.g the Balkans.

We don't say The Albania, The Bosnia, The Croatia, The Kosovo. We refer to these as Balkan states when referring to them within the ambit of a grouping, as falling under the umbrella of that collective term. We can still refer to them as individual states, and do, unless making reference to that collective. Ukraine is not analogous to this.

Nobody in the world refers to Ukraine as the Ukraine, including people who in fact live in Ukraine.
