1. The 10% figure was an approximate figure i.e. an estimate. I said as much at the very beginning of my first post. The point being that the man who more than any other in this country pushed for restrictions, and whose word was treated as the whole truth and nothing but the truth, maintained in a letter to the Minister for Health that 500,000 people may have caught Covid the previous week. Yet you dismiss estimates when it suits you, seeking "proof" when the introduction of public health restrictions were based on models and projections of what may happen. In typically pedantic fashion, you focus on a small part of what I wrote which is irrelevant to the implications arising from the article I quoted.

2. August 2020, no vaccines. August 2021, eight months into the jab campaign. Same time of year. Much more hospitalisations and serious cases despite being 18 months into the greatest overreaction this country has seen and being in one of the warmest months of the year. January 2021 is the middle of winter when the health system has always been "next to collapse etc. and the jab campaign had only gotten under way. First you said numbers were "higher", now "lower". You've confused yourself. What are you trying to say? Any idiot can see you're not comparing like with like for reasons outlined previously.

3. The restrictions, in particular facemasks and social distancing, were introduced to supposedly slow the spread. Yet Holohan went on the public record with the estimated 500,000 figure. In that case, the two major non- pharma interventions were ineffective if the man who recommended their introduction was informing the govt that he reckoned roughly 10% of the population may have Covid, despite your bleating. I'll repeat, you dismiss estimates when it suits you, seeking "proof" when, in the first place, the introduction of these very restrictions you maintain are effective were based on models and projections of what may happen. Moreover these same restrictions were deemed ineffective by people like Holohan at the outset in the case of face masks or were based on an arbitrary number picked out of somebody's arse in the case of the 2m social distancing recommendation.

" There are 206 patients hospitalised with coronavirus across the country. Of these patients, 33 are receiving treatment in intensive care (ICU) after one person was discharged from ICU".
