Back in the late 90s when the internet was still extremely obscure in Ireland, Eamon Dunphys last word show on Today Fm was considered to be the closest thing we had to "alternative media", do you remember it ? Do you remember characters navan man? Father wishy washy?

I'd switch it on religiously. My favourite was the drunken politician.
And who could forget that pondscum Dershovitz being shreddered by Professor Finkelstein. Over many shows, not just the once. Bob Fisk was a regular too, may he RIP. We need him today.
Such radio be impossible nowadays, sadly.

I remember him telling a sponsor to fk off because they didn't like what he was saying.

In 1999/2000 Dunphy have very long unexplained absences from the show, Rumour was that he was in Rehab.

He was a glorious drunk of the old school. Even sharper with the right amount. I remember drinking DP with him ( and others) in Lillie's in the early 90's.
Probably best for him he kicked the habit though. Brilliant mind.

They did it with patience. A tiny cut here,a bigger cut there, followed by soothing words.
I never saw it coming either. 9/11 was the wake up moment for me. Then after that a puppy nearly dying from his shots - I'd never questioned the jabs before that. Then I started digging. And didn't have to dig too far. 'A Blueprint For Madmen' by AJ a d 'Endgame' were masterpieces.
Part of their spiritual requirement to tell us their plans.
But yea compared to then we are in an Orwellian hellscape I never in my wildest nightmares thought possible.
