Vicar leaves pupils in tears with Father Christmas remarks

The minister, who is vicar of Faith’s Church, is alleged to have told the children: “You’re all Year 6, now let’s be real, Santa isn’t real.”

The remark is said to have left children in tears and sparked complaints by their parents.

One 10-year-old pupil who was in the religious education (RE) lesson said: “He also was saying what Santa likes. Someone said, ‘He likes cookies.’ Then he said, ‘Do your parents like cookies?’ And a lot of them said, ‘Yeah.’ And then he said how the parents were the ones that were eating it.

“I heard a lot of gasps because they were shocked about it, so I don’t think everyone knew.”

One parent added: “Lots of children started crying in class. Mine was upset but she still believes so I’m quite lucky she’s still not believing him and she thinks he’s lost the plot.

“I think it’s wrong, but a lot of parents have had to confess to their child.”

Another parent said her seven-year-old daughter told her the Rev Dr Chamberlain had ruined Christmas after she was told of what he said by older pupils.

“I don’t know how it can be undone, but I think it’s absolutely disgusting,” the mother said.

I remember it vividly..

My mother used to go for walks a lot and I used to have to join her, which I didn't like, walking's boring.. And on one of these walks I just asked her - Is Santa real? And, completely deadpan, she says -

No

It hurt man 😢

What was that vicar thinking

Watched it last night. He got a bit uneasy when Joe pressed him on evolution and carbon dating.

A good guy though.

By the way, I actually watched that garbage up until then

When does he say something interesting, the whole hour is entirely forgettable already. All I remember is him noisily swallowing his own saliva (I can't stand that sound), burping, gulping water like he had a hangover from hell and generally imitating his fictional character from the movie franchise Lethal Weapon

Maybe the second half is better

One thing I agree with my Da on is that the whole Santa Claus thing is evil and anti-Christian (which should be obvious if you think about it for a few seconds).

I am convinced that the adoption of the whole "Santa" thing led to a large increase in atheism because kids will have reasoned that if they were lying about Santa than they might also be lying about God.

I think the Santa thing is a great education for all youngsters ~ ~ It teaches you that you can't trust anyone !

Also it's great fun at Christmas with the kids and family around the kids.

And, as I said ~ Tis a great educator about life, when the kids get old enough to work it all out !

It's not surprising the Catholic church has a problem with satanick Jews.

The Anglican church would probably not have this problem.

The child's grandfather has been taken in for questioning.
I shudder to think what was done to this innocent soul. The whole case has touched me on a level that I cannot describe - Emile Soleil.
The poor child.
