this is as mad as it gets -- the fire engine is fitted with warning lights/beacons and its own parking driving lights --unbeliveable these were turned OFF at night on an aircraft runway while crossing the runway .
no crewmember looked out the window to check for approaching aircraft .
all airports have service roads surrounding the airport to keep vehicles from doing what this moronic fire engine did.
it has also emerged the control tower was blind because their flashing beacons were off at the exact time everyone in the airport knew they were required and most importantly THE FIRE ENGINE WAS NOT MONITERING THE TOWER RADIO AS THE TOWER SCREAMED AT THEM TO STOP -they did not obey nor reply to the tower to tell them they would not obey.
you could not make it up it is so daft.
