This was contrasted with Guelphism, which advocated for the kingdoms of Europe to respond only to the pope.

In 'Men Among the Ruins' Julius Evola advocated for a return to Ghibellinism, presumably in the form of a politician like Adolf Hitler.

I think he would have rather consider Hitler as a Bonapartist figure rather than a Ghibeline one.

I think Hitler was a Bonapartist, yes, but maybe the next time National Socialism is attempted someone who is more of a Ghibelline emperor can be put in the place Hitler earlier used.
