The Irish Church will be dead in 10 years. Quit kidding yourselves lads.
i attended with my family Christmas eve 8pm -lovely mass good choir and soloists made it very enjoyable .Yes I went to St Johns SSPX in Dun Laoghaire and I think it was quite a bit bigger than last year and I don't really know why. Even the priest seemed to remark on it in his sermon.
Better go with ~ ~ The Auld Christianity ~ ~ Come in handy for the Coming Crusade !In 10 years, the people saying the church will dead, might be in a mosque with their hole up in the air , pretending to be talking to Allah, if they know what is good for them
If Christ was a Palestinian He’ll know that craic then. I’ve an aul’ uncle that now lives in Wales and he listens to RTE radio on his TV package. Keeps him informed of happenings back in the homeland. Otherwise he’d have to rely on some random guy from Germany phoning him up and telling him what’s going on in Ireland.i attended with my family Christmas eve 8pm -lovely mass good choir and soloists made it very enjoyable .
us tourists -- we were chided for visibly turning up once a year to enjoy the Christmas ""show"".
a token prayer was offered for those suffering in ""the middle east "" .
Christ was a Palestinian --no mention was made of this -- just stay in the middle lane do not move right or left and see nothing eyes straight ahead.
Exactly right. Obviously there are some serious catholic posters here but for us less fervent, this os our best path indeedBetter go with ~ ~ The Auld Christianity ~ ~ Come in handy for the Coming Crusade !
You need to be amongst Christians to ~ ~ Take On Islam.Exactly right. Obviously there are some serious catholic posters here but for us less fervent, this os our best path indeed
You're not a Prod Cossack. There are no Prods in Poland.
Well how did one of them end up here? Not true- there have been Prods in Poland for a long time.
If @scolairebocht had actually read the article, I doubt he would have posted itNot atheist though does not necessarily mean Catholic or even Christian.
I'm afraid he didI think Bocht has shot his load too early on this one.
I think people like scolairebocht and Tiger should accept that Catholicism ain't making no comeback and just be happy in their own, personal, faith. I only give them a belt on the nose (particularly @Tiger) when they deny scienceThat survey shows younsters have no more interest in the Church than a dog. They're mystic yoga-type spiritualists who are about as far away from Irish Catholicism than an atheist.
Ironically Tiger and I would likely agree on this point.
I'm afraid he did

It is without any glee that I would not expect an upsurge in Catholicism. There is no certainty about that. It looks on the face of it now that Catholicism will not make a comeback in Ireland however that does not necessarily mean that it will not. Stranger things have happened.
That would be a firstyou have it all wrong
It hasn't really gone anywhereChristianity will return.
Eh, obedience, celibacy (I'm not sure what poverty means) is kind of part and parcel of the religion isn't it, as is male only priests. You may not be a Roman but I'm not sure what you're against. If I was a Catholic (which I'm not) I'd probably be a traditional oneits in the background,
but its deadly enemy the catholic church still is trying to destroy it with its ""CELIBACY"" OBEDIENCE ""POVERTY"" rules /demands/ oaths which destroy the church from within and literally castrate its staff/priests/management.
the in your face rejection of women except in a bizarre servile cult role is equally destructive .
destroy the cult and start at the top and allow married stable happy Christians to manage the IRISH CHRISTIAN CHURCH and people will weep tears of joy with the prospect of entering a building dedicated to serving THEIR community and THEIR spiritual needs .
not the serving of some strange deviant in Rome -- i am not roman i am not roman anything fuck off Rome.
"Thank you, I've also noticed an increase in attendance at services
...
I've noticed an increase since the covid scam and it's lovely to see a lot of young couples with their children too.
...
Declan this is great to see. In my parish Saturday night mass & Sunday mass numbers have greatly increased. All Christmas services were out the door.
...
I've noticed a big increase in our local chapel this past year. Lots of young families with kids, it's great. In saying that we do have a priest who doesn't waffle on to the sound of his own voice at homily time!
...
Declan I returned about 4 years ago and I am glad I did
...
We had a whole school mass at our parish church today & for the 1st time that I can remember we couldn’t all fit in because of the number of parishioners there. Was heartwarming!
...
In my town they were giving the ashes on the street. I noticed lots of people had got them. Noticeable. I wonder why.
...
Our local church in carrigaline, cork was also packed at 9.30 am. Priest acknowledged how full the church was. It was such a wonderful surprise.
...
This evening's Mass in our Parish was also packed.
...
Our church was standing room only last evening, the second of two services.
...
God bless you too. I noticed my church very full lately. Today going for ashes, I was lucky I went early, packed. I’m glad to see people coming back.
...
Waking up after a long Sleep !?
...
Packed where I went too ????
...
A great crowd at 6pm Mass in St Eustace’s Dominican Church in Newbridge, Co Kildare too. Plenty of families with children there which is always lovely to see.
...
It is very noticeable especially so at funerals. I think there is a sense that our Christianity is in danger from within and without.
...
Plenty ashes on show in public this year here in Cork, especially amongst school kids.
...
Because people are realizing what's creeping in under our noses that's why.
...
I have seen significant increase in younger people (under 30)attending Sunday Mass in last 12 months."
If / When the fighting starts ~ ~ We are going to need the, Catholics / Christians ~ ~ If ya go back far enough the, Catholics / Christians, have a good record against the Muslims ( Home and Away )To what end for all of this Bocht?
there is no revival in the young none in the young families .The Revival of Catholic Ireland, the success of the new Counter Reformation!
With that, Jib of a Chin with Beard ! !Ireland started the descent the first time Jimmy Hill appeared on that 19 inch GEC black and white.
I like Bocht and I know that his heart is in the right place but he's a rather hopefully deluded manThere's no young Catholics in Ireland Bocht. I'm afraid you'd best get used to it.
