Funny you should mention Pitcairn. I had a walking tour yesterday and was telling them about a tour I had some years ago where some young girl approached me on Lexington Green with a request. As part of her school project she was asked to find three unusual stories about the skermish there.

I told her two.
The English officer up front that order the rebels off the Green was a man called Major Pitcairn who eas later killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill. He had a brother who sailed with Captain Cook. He was the first to spot Pitcairn Island and it was named after him. And that is where Captain Blygh washed up after the Mutiny on the Bounty.

just to show you how it works in kilkenny ---ST JOHNS HALL was too Irish too catholic to house Muslims who might object to the address used by the Irish in kilkenny for a century --so -- it is now ""RIVERSIDE HOUSE"" and we all scratched our heads --where the hell is riverside house .

local schools have big problems and the family regime comes into the school when the school insists on meeting the parents they are sometimes confronted with only one speaking parent who has full authority in the household and turned to his wife and instructs her like a servant to do the schools bidding -- many children have never taken exercise and parents object to exercise and will not allow swimming for example so kids in the water and kids out of the water have to be supervised --same with mass and confirmation in a catholic school-- mayhem with hair trigger NGOS and barristers attached .
