Last heard of down at the local scout troop insisting that they march on Artemivsk immediately and come its glorious liberation he will rename it Ballybakhmut in their honour.

Ah Ze Germans = = Not laughing at Donald Trump so much these days ! ! !
Ah yes that classic moment.
Stupid arrogant condescending assholes.
BTW a few years ago.
VDL was minister for defence.
She made such a balls of it.
Like her previous ministry.
It was embarrassing for Frau Merkel.
So she's doing the same magnificent job of fucking things up on a euro scale.
That's failing up for you.

If these latest incursions were meant to be the much anticipated offensive then it is safe to say that Ukraine is well and truly beaten. A few points to note.

The fact that the attacks were several in number and spread along the front indicates that Ukraine was unable to amass a large concentration of troops and resources in any one area. It could not not orchestrate a hammer blow, only a few light knocks here and there. Russian bombing of supply depots is having the desired effect of dispersing the stores making it impossible to focus on one or two points.

By attacking at several points the Ukrainians were confronting a greater number of Russian troops, and again, it looks as if they didn't have the numbers to generate any sort of momentum.

Zelenksy was, and still is, nowhere to be seen, the operation has the air of a few generals at HQ going through the motions rather than being motivated by a committed leader. It can only be America that is keeping him in his position, if not in the country. Or maybe they are just keeping him out of the way while the big boys do the actual planning. Either way his future does not look bright and one must wonder about the relationship between the Ukrainian top brass and the Yankee interlopers.

Leading on from that did the hit on the Ukrainian intelligence services HQ have a significant effect on planning the 'offensive'? There may be the possibility that no weak spot in the Russian defences could be identified and so it became a question of throwing troops at the front in several places in the hope that something might stick, and then they could move the reserves to that point.

All in all it looks like a last ditch effort by Ukraine rather than a forceful assault. Not quite the Battle of the Bulge, more like Skirmishes of the Pimples.

I see that the Churnal has pulled the AP Ukrainian counter offensive story.
Gosh what is that about?
If they were presenting it as such then I can only imagine that is how they had been briefed. The fact that The Ukraine didn't deliver suggests that it might only have been a PR stunt all along. How any country go on a full scale offensive while its supposed leader is gallivanting around the world is a question that these lapdogs of the establishment should be asking themselves before rushing to publication.

It could be all over if this story is accurate. Ukraine needs a Hail Mary in the next couple of days
The place is rudderless, on what authority did it mount these counter attacks? Are the Ukrainian generals taking orders from NATO (read US) and Zelensky just nodding the plans through as he is kept well out of the way? A country at war needs a clear command structure, I just don't think Ukraine has one in place.
