Moscow would trigger a “contingency plan” outlined by President Vladimir Putin in the event that Ukraine receives permission to use Western-supplied long-range missiles for strikes deep inside Russia, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned.
Putin earlier said that any such strikes would be treated by Moscow as a direct attack by the countries that provided the weapons.
The diplomat was commenting on an upcoming meeting of Kiev’s foreign arms donors, which Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has been touting as “historic.”Moscow does not follow statements on the issue as it already has a response prepared, the foreign minister said.
“As soon as this decision is taken [by the West to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles], if it is taken, we will learn that, and the contingency mentioned by Vladimir Putin will already be in action,”Lavrov told Russia’s Channel 1 broadcaster.
Putin has warned that any such attack by Ukraine with Western-supplied long-range missiles would be treated by Moscow as being directly launched by NATO. He has suggested that Russia could arm enemies of the West with similar weapons in response.
What changes is Russia making to its nuclear doctrine? READ MORE: What changes is Russia making to its nuclear doctrine?
Moscow is currently updating its nuclear doctrine to include an attack by a non-nuclear state backed by a nuclear one to the conditions which could trigger a nuclear retaliation from Russia.
Kiev has been asking the US and its allies to lift a ban on strikes deep inside Russia with their long-range weapons for months, blaming its recent setbacks on the battlefield on Western reluctance.
Russian officials previously claimed that the principal decision to grant Ukraine its wish had already been made, and that Western nations were choosing a means to present it to the general public.
Zelensky had hoped that the ban would be lifted during his visit last month to the US, where he presented his ‘victory plan’ to President Joe Biden. According to local media, US officials are skeptical about the Ukrainian leader’s proposal, which they do not consider viable for defeating Russia.
Moscow, which describes the Ukraine conflict as a US-led proxy war against Russia, has pledged to achieve its goals by any means necessary as its national security depends on it. The West is willing “to fight to the last Ukrainian” to inflict damage on Russia, the Kremlin has argued.

That was quick! Looks like the exact same style as Charleville, some building crowd has been raking it in.
Looks the spitting image of Sligo too, built well back from the road with ample parking in a leafy setting.

Didn't take long to build, complete and filled, all within a year!!

It's another world, not Irish.

Most NATO countries do not support Ukraine’s accession – member state

Many of Kiev’s sponsors are only pretending to back the country’s membership, according to Hungarian FM Peter Szijjarto

Most NATO members are acting “unfairly” towards Ukrainians and do not actually support the country’s desire to join the US-led military bloc, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto claimed on Tuesday during a televised press conference.
The diplomat stated that many members of the bloc have been expressing their skepticism and opposition in private conversations.
The behavior of a “significant part”of NATO members has been “extremely unfair” to Ukrainians, given that the countries do not talk “honestly” about their real position, Szijjarto said.
The minister said he conveyed this to his Ukrainian counterpart Andrey Sibiga during their recent meeting. The diplomat did not reveal how the Ukrainian minister reacted to his remarks.
NATO state’s PM pledges to block Ukrainian membership READ MORE: NATO state’s PM pledges to block Ukrainian membership
“Last week I told the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, who was in Budapest, that I don’t know what they are telling him, I don’t know what they are trying to convince him of, but when we are alone behind closed doors, the majority [of NATO states] shares the position that I just articulated,”Szijjarto said.
Unlike most NATO states, Hungary has openly opposed Kiev’s membership, believing its accession would result in World War III, he pointed out. Because the accession of new countries must be approved by all of NATO’s 32 members, even a single nation is capable of keeping an aspirant out of the US-led bloc.
A similar stance has been repeatedly taken by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who had held the office twice and regained it after the October 2023 election. The potential accession of Ukraine would only “serve as a good basis”for WWIII, Fico believes.

“As long as I am the prime minister of the Slovak Republic, I will lead the legislators, whom I have control over as a party chairman, to never agree to Ukraine’s membership in NATO,” he said last week in an interview with the broadcaster STVR.
Kiev formally applied to join NATO in September 2022, citing the conflict with Russia. While many Western states publicly back Ukraine’s aspirations, they have refused to provide a concrete roadmap or timetable for accession. Vladimir Zelensky acknowledged in July that “we will not be in NATO until the war is over in Ukraine.”

Russian victory will liberate Europe – top French historian

European “submission” to the US will be be prolonged for a century if Moscow loses in Ukraine, according to Emmanuel Todd
Russian victory will liberate Europe – top French historian

A Ukrainian defeat would represent a victory for all of Europe, French anthropologist Emmanuel Todd has claimed, in an interview with the Italian news outlet Corriere di Bologna published on Tuesday.
According to Todd, who has stressed that he is not an explicit supporter of Moscow, if Russia were to lose in the Ukraine conflict, this would allow “European submission to the Americans to be prolonged for a century.”
The leading intellectual has argued that Europe has effectively delegated the representation of the West to the US and has been paying the consequences ever since. He claims in the interview that nothing can be done to change this fact at the moment due to the ongoing Ukraine conflict, but suggests that its outcome will “decide the fate of Europe.”
“If, as I believe, the US is defeated, NATO will disintegrate and Europe will be left free,”
Todd told the outlet, noting that it is unlikely that Russia would be compelled to militarily attack Western Europe after establishing itself on the Dnieper River.

“Russia will have neither the means nor the desire to expand once the borders of pre-communist Russia are reconstituted. The Russophobic hysteria of the West, which fantasizes about the desire for Russian expansion in Europe, is simply ridiculous for a serious historian,” he said.
A number of Western leaders have in recent months raised concerns that if Russia were allowed to defeat Ukraine it would eventually set its sights on other European countries.
Moscow, however, has repeatedly stressed that it has no intention of attacking any other countries once it accomplishes its goals in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed talk of a ‘Russian threat’ as “nonsense” being peddled by Western governments to scare the European population in order to “extract additional expenses” from them.

West won’t bear ‘Ukraine burden’ without US – Moscow

Vladimir Zelensky is “visibly upset” by Joe Biden’s decision to pull out of a key meeting of Kiev’s backers, Rodion Miroshnik has said

A tour of European capitals by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky is pointless because these nations have no intention of providing aid to Kiev without the US, senior Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik has claimed.
Earlier this week, US President Joe Biden announced he would miss a planned meeting on Saturday between Western arms donors and Ukrainian officials at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, in order to oversee the response to Hurricane Milton at home. Following Biden’s decision, the gathering was postponed altogether, with no announcement on a new date.
Miroshnik, who is tasked by the Russian Foreign Ministry with collecting evidence of alleged Ukrainian war crimes, suggested that the meeting was scrapped because “Biden and the European leaders failed to agree on the shares and the mechanism of supplying the Kiev regime.”
“Biden did not find anything better than to stay [in the US] and save the country from the hurricane. [US Secretary of State Antony] Blinken also decided that the American coast cannot be protected from the hurricane without him,”
the diplomat wrote in a Telegram post on Friday.

Top-level meeting of Western leaders on Ukraine canceled – media
After the cancelation of the Ramstein gathering, Zelensky announced he would be heading on a 36-hour European tour to promote his so-called ‘victory plan’ for the conflict with Russia. He has already met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer London, with talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni scheduled for Friday.
“When the master [Biden] failed to show up, Zelensky rushed to his satellites for consolation. Zelensky is clearly upset. The observers point out that he has not looked that lost in a long time,” Miroshnik wrote.
However, Kiev’s backers in Western Europe “are not what they used to be,” the diplomat claimed. “In Italy, France, Britain they hugged him [Zelensky], pitied him, but did not give him money.”
“The Europeans themselves will not carry the burden”
of aiding Ukraine because it was always “a result of the American-European deal,” Miroshnik argued.

The pause in Western support for Kiev “may drag on,” the diplomat said, adding: “The US now has more important concerns such as the election [and] post-election period. They are saying: ‘Do not to disturb until February.’”

Ukraine demands Asian state arrest Putin

Ukraine demands Asian state arrest Putin

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has urged Turkmenistan not to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin, reminding the Central Asian state of an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Although Turkmenistan is not a signatory to the Rome Statute and does not recognize the jurisdiction of the Hague-based institution, Ukraine expressed hope that Ashgabat would respect the “norms of international law.”
In a statement on Thursday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry urged “all countries that value human life, international law, and the UN Charter to refrain from holding joint events with the participation of Putin.”
Putin arrived in Ashgabat on Friday morning for a working visit, during which he will participate in an international forum titled “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development,” dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
A slap in the West’s face: Why hopes for Putin’s arrest were a fantasy READ MORE: A slap in the West’s face: Why hopes for Putin’s arrest were a fantasy
The ICC issued a warrant for Putin’s arrest in March 2023, accusing him of the “unlawful deportation of children from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”
Moscow has dismissed the claims as ridiculous, noting that the evacuation of civilians from combat zones is not a crime. Neither Russia nor Ukraine are parties to the Rome Statute, meaning the ICC lacks jurisdiction in the matter.
In late August, Ukraine issued a similar demand to Mongolia, which is a signatory to the ICC. The country refused to comply, arguing that it maintains a policy of neutrality regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This infuriated Kiev, which promised to “work with partners to ensure that this has consequences for Ulaanbaatar.”
Kiev also called on Mexico to arrest Putin if he visits the country, following reports earlier this year that the Russian president was invited to attend the inauguration of Mexico’s new leader in October. The Mexican authorities rejected the request.

LOL's 😂

Oh the shock and the horror, who ever would of guessed it!

It does make me wonder though about the stoicism I have noted amongst German companies, wouldn't be at all surprised that behind the brave faces they are all on the fiddle themselves, and best of luck to them.

Yep. Although they're not all bad. Australia has been a good test country for them as we get very violent storms very regularly for about half the year. It's definitely separated the wheat from the chaff. As I understand it, wood framed kit homes are now non-compliant in most states because as you say they are garbage.

I don't see where 370K Yoyos have gone in one of those either. At the end of the day we're talking a single-level flats with MDF kitchens/SPC Flooring (to be fair, the last is a good product). They're both cheap to produce and cheap to construct, so you can't blame it on labour. I wonder what the walling is actually made of--looks to be some kind of composite panelling, maybe styrocrete with some kind of aesthetic cladding.

EU country tells Ukraine it won’t supply more arms

Slovakia has no more weapons to spare for Kiev, the foreign minister has said

Bratislava will not supply military equipment to Kiev from its own stockpiles but will continue to assist Ukraine in other ways, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar told his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock during a visit to Berlin on Friday.
Blanar stated that his country’s position is consistent and clear: it will not supply Ukraine with any more military material because there is “nothing left,” according to local media reports.
However, the country has reportedly agreed to expand its repair base for German-supplied military equipment in Michalovce, near the border with Ukraine. The facility began operating at the end of 2022 and is currently used by German companies. Berlin is financing the repairs, while Slovakia provides the premises and logistics.

Blanar also noted that Slovakia will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine and plans to participate in demining efforts. The Slovak minister emphasized that Bratislava supports all peaceful solutions to the conflict.
After winning the parliamentary election last year, Prime Minister Robert Fico’s Smer-SD party halted deliveries of weapons to Ukraine and called for a diplomatic resolution of the conflict. He promised to restore trade and political ties with Moscow once the fighting ends, arguing that “the EU needs Russia, and Russia needs the EU.”
Fico, a longtime critic of Western military aid to Ukraine who survived an assassination attempt by a reportedly pro-Kiev shooter in May, has also promised to block Ukraine from joining NATO, arguing that such a move could spark a world war.

Slovakia’s previous leadership supplied large amounts of hardware to Kiev, including MiG-29 fighter jets and S-300 air defense systems. According to Defense Minister Robert Kalinak, his predecessors acted “in the most irresponsible way” when they handed over equipment needed for Slovakia's own security.
The interim government led by Eduard Heger possibly even breached the law when it hastily authorized the delivery of 13 MiG-29s to Kiev in March 2023, according to Bratislava's state secretary to the minister of defense, Igor Melicher. Fico’s government has requested a legal review of the shipment.

Military conscription enforcers have carried out a major raid at a rock concert in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Multiple videos, allegedly of men being detained, have been circulating on social media since Friday’s show.
The operation reportedly involved over 50 officers, who checked the papers of male concertgoers outside the Palace of Sports. Many of those who had issues with their documents or refused to show their IDs altogether were detained, according to local media.
Videos from the scene captured the crowd chanting “Shame on you” as armed officers took people away and put them in police vehicles. It is unclear how many men ended up being detained.
The band, Okean Elzy, is one of Ukraine’s most famous rock groups; around 8,000 people reportedly attended.

The Lviv-based group has been around since 1994. Its ballad ‘Bez Boyu’ became an unofficial anthem of the Western-backed Maidan protests, which led to the overthrow of democratically elected president Viktor Yanukovich in 2014. The frontman of Okean Elzy, Vyacheslav Vakarchuk, was a member of the Ukrainian parliament in 2007-2008 and in 2019-2020.

Some commentators online have blamed the band for cooperating with military recruiters following the raid. “Police are waiting outside after your show. Why didn't you warn the people about it?” one of the fans wondered. “I went to a show with my boyfriend - there were so many emotions; I will not be able to sleep tonight. All thanks to the conscription offers,” another wrote. Okean Elzy has not yet commented on the accusations.

Following the show in Kiev, many people went online to sell their tickets to the band’s upcoming performances in other Ukrainian cities, according to the media.

Ukraine’s conscription drive ‘increasingly deceitful, coercive and violent’ – The Times

This spring, faced with manpower shortages, mounting losses and military setbacks in the conflict with Russia, Kiev lowered the draft age from 27 to 25 and significantly tightened mobilization rules, obliging potential recruits to report to conscription offices for “data validation,” which often means a trip straight to the front.
Multiple videos have popped up on social media in recent months, showing conscription officers trying to snatch people in the streets, gyms and shopping malls.
The Times reported last week that “efforts to boost conscription are becoming increasingly deceitful, coercive and violent” in Ukraine, but they still appear to be insufficient to reach Kiev’s goal of recruiting an extra 200,000 troops by the end of the year.

Crystal clear diagnosis: Putin is mentally ill© Pixabay

If you were still wondering whether or not Vladimir Putin is paranoid, we can now dispel those doubts because psychiatrist Daniel Zagury analyzed his behavior in detail.

Daniel Zagury, a psychiatrist specializing in psychopathology and forensic psychiatry, spoke to Le Journal du Dimanche about the Russian head of state's hate-soaked behavior.

At a time when he is completely disconnected from reality, Putin lapses into excesses and "embarks on a rampage that can only be stopped by external action," Zagury stressed. An inevitable war is the only answer to a deep and boundless inner hatred.

The paranoia inherent in dictatorship

Like any true dictator, Putin suffers from paranoia. To maintain his power, he must distrust everything and everyone. "There is a functional paranoia that is necessary for the work of intelligence, from the KGB to the FSB.... the paranoid reaction is one of the classic drivers of mobilization against the enemy. But this is something else: the decompensation of a mental illness," explains Daniel Zagury.

Detached from reality

The psychiatrist continued: "For Putin, what is happening is completely unthinkable, unrepresentable, unimaginable. It is the gruesome dissolution of all the values of Greater Russia, fused with his person. Ukraine, hated more than anything else as a fake creation of the collapse of the USSR, is in the process of defeating Russia militarily, with the active help of the hated West." Completely subservient to his delusions of grandeur and unable to deal with the image of the triumphant enemy, the Russian president steps up his attacks and mocks the West. "Reality no longer has a grip on him," the psychiatrist concludes his analysis.
