Trump's election promise was to make Europe foot the bill for it's own security.
3 months in office and Europe WILL be footing the bill for its own security.

If only we had politicians who follow through on their election promises.

Trump makes ‘final offer’ to end Ukraine conflict – Axios

The US peace framework reportedly includes “de jure” recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and the eventual lifting of sanctions

Washington has presented Kiev with what US President Donald Trump has called the “final offer” to end the Ukraine conflict, according to a report by Axios. The Kremlin, however, has urged the public to rely on official sources for developments in US-Russia talks.
The one-page document was reportedly drafted following Trump envoy Steve Witkoff’s four-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this month, and was presented to Ukrainian officials in Paris last week, Axios reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources with direct knowledge of the discussions.
Under the proposed deal, the US is said to be prepared to grant “de jure” recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, and unofficially acknowledge Moscow’s “de facto” control over the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, as well as the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye.
The plan also includes provisions for lifting post-2014 sanctions on Moscow and enhancing bilateral economic cooperation. In addition, Washington would formally oppose Ukraine’s bid to join NATO.

In return, Ukraine would reportedly receive a “robust security guarantee” from a coalition of EU and other like-minded countries, though the proposal lacks details on how this peacekeeping operation would function. Russia has rejected the deployment of NATO forces to Ukraine under any pretext.
The framework also promises Kiev unimpeded access to the Dnepr River and potential compensation for reconstruction efforts, although it does not specify where the funding would originate. The plan references a minerals deal between the US and Ukraine, which Trump expects to be signed on Thursday.
Another component of the proposal, according to Axios, involves designating the area around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant as neutral territory under US administration.

Washington reportedly expects Kiev to respond to the proposal during a multinational meeting in London on Wednesday. Both Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will skip the event, with General Keith Kellogg, another Trump envoy focused on Ukraine, leading the US delegation instead. Witkoff is expected to travel to Moscow for a follow-up meeting with Putin.
Rubio warned last week that the US could abandon the peace initiatives and “move on” to other issues if the negotiations fail. Trump said on Monday there is “a good chance of solving the problem” this week.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has repeatedly ruled out ceding any territory to Russia and continues to urge the US and other allies to provide sustained military support.
Moscow has stated that the status of Crimea – which joined Russia in 2014 following a referendum held after a Western-backed coup in Kiev – and the four other former Ukrainian regions that voted to join Russia in 2022, is not open to negotiation. Russian officials insist that any peace agreement must address the “root causes” of the conflict. Putin has also said that a viable ceasefire would require Western nations to halt arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Ms Svyrydenko said the accord allowed Ukraine to "determine what and where to extract" and that its subsoil remains owned by Ukraine.

Has this been brought to the attention of Blackrock, Monsanto etc?

I have to disagree.

It seems to me Putin has lost. Of course the war will continue but maybe not for long. The key decisions have already been made.

Wars are fought for objectives. Putins objective was to prevent Ukraine moving irrevocably into the Western sphere. While he could not force regime change in the initial invasion, he stuck to aims like Ukraine completely demiliterising and the like, and other goals like NATO retreating west, etc.

Now the US, and Trump, are commiting to Ukraine. Trump's a commercial guy at heart, he wants a return. He can't get that if those minerials cant be mined due to the threat of Russian attack. I expect he wants to protect his new assets. I would not be surprised if Ukraine gets all those Patriot missiles that Ukraine wanted to buy, thats 15B USD right there, from European money.

Besides Putin is expending his new arms almost as soon as he produces them, rather than being able to build up a new force, so its probably in his interests to stop. He's either spending millions killing a few Ukr civilians or losing a few hundred men every time he takes a couple of fields. Neither advances what he wanted.

The US is commiting itself to east of Poland, if they want their billions back. The Europeans are probably delighted. I'm sure there will be falling out with Zelensky from time to time but its noise.

Meanwhile in the real world.

George Bush sternly warned Brussels, “our premise is that the American role in the defense and the affairs of Europe will not be made superfluous by European union.”

And now the Americans are whinging that they are fed up with supporting Europe and Europe should look after itself after decades of insisting that America does just that!

The Pivot East I suppose.
And decline of empire military resources.
Economically Europe is in the process of going out of business.
The greens gaslighting plus the sheer retarded political system.

100%. They pushed for European militaries specialising in certain areas, so that the US would remain in the driving seat overall.

Now Europe is going to rearm massively and the US is now freaking out that they may only buy European kit, not US kit.

Ukrainian MP threatens terror attack on Red Square

Kiev could target Moscow’s Red Square during next week’s Victory Day celebrations, a Ukrainian lawmaker has suggested, despite Russia’s offer of a three-day ceasefire. May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a 72-hour ceasefire from May 8 to 10, citing “humanitarian considerations.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov later described the truce as a chance to begin “direct negotiations with Kiev without preconditions.”
However, in an interview with Ukrainian media on Wednesday, Yury Pavlenko openly suggested that Ukraine could try to derail Victory Day, which is one of the most revered holidays in Russia, as well as many former Soviet republics.
”I think the time will come when we will strike Red Square – whether it happens this May 9 or sometime later, that time will come,” Pavlenko said, claiming that the Russian capital is full of “legitimate military targets… that have brought much grief to Ukrainian soil.”

He noted that the final decision rests with Ukraine’s military leadership, taking into account the presence of foreign dignitaries from neutral countries. This year’s Victory Day parade is expected to be attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, among others.
Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has branded the Russian truce proposal a “manipulation,” while calling for a longer ceasefire of 30 days. “They are now concerned that their parade is in jeopardy and rightly so,” Zelensky said. “What they should worry about is that this war continues.”
In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested that Kiev “is literally planning terrorist attacks on air,” which she said undermines the prospects for peace talks.
Since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, Kiev has conducted a number of drone attacks on Moscow. On May 3, 2023, Russia accused Ukraine of attempting to assassinate Putin by targeting the Kremlin with two drones, which were shot down before they could cause significant damage.

Germany ‘has rebuilt the Berlin Wall’ – Vance

The US vice president has slammed attempts to “destroy” the anti-immigration AfD party
Germany ‘has rebuilt the Berlin Wall’ – Vance

US Vice President J.D. Vance has compared the German government’s treatment of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party to rebuilding the Berlin Wall.
On Friday, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, the BfV, classified the anti-immigration AfD as an “extremist” organization, citing “xenophobic, anti-minority, Islamophobic, and anti-Muslim statements made by leading party officials.” The label enables police to closely monitor the party’s activities.
“The AfD is the most popular party in Germany, and by far the most representative of East Germany. Now the bureaucrats try to destroy it,” Vance wrote on X.
“The West tore down the Berlin Wall together. And it has been rebuilt – not by the Soviets or the Russians, but by the German establishment,” he added.
The party’s co-leader, Alice Weidel, accused the government of attempting to quell dissent. “Since the AfD is the strongest party in polls now, they want to suppress the opposition & freedom of speech,” she wrote on X.
The AfD was founded in 2013 as a backlash to Germany’s handling of the eurozone debt crisis. It has since shifted focus to demanding tighter immigration and asylum laws and opposing the “woke agenda.” The party is also critical of NATO and has staged protests against sending weapons to Ukraine.

The AfD finished second in the federal elections in February, winning 152 seats in the 630-seat Bundestag. Last month, it topped opinion polls for the first time, with 26% support.
The party is especially popular in the economically underdeveloped regions of former East Germany. The AfD has also been embroiled in controversy, as some members have had links to far-right and neo-Nazi groups or used slogans associated with Nazi Germany.
Major German parties have refused to form coalitions and work with the AfD as part of the so-called ‘firewall against the far-right’. Vance criticized efforts to isolate the party during a speech at the Munich Security Conference in February. “Democracy rests on the sacred principle that the voice of the people matters. There is no room for firewalls. You either uphold the principle or you don’t,” the US vice president said.
The Berlin Wall was built by East Germany in 1961 to stop its citizens from fleeing to West Berlin. It remained in place throughout the Cold War until it was torn down in 1989, leading to German reunification.

"The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s capability to meet current and future threats by ensuring its pilots are effectively trained and by increasing its interoperability with the United States through comprehensive training with the U.S. Air Force. This proposed sale aligns with international coalition contributions for the establishment of Ukraine’s F-16 program and the overall modernization of Ukraine’s air force. Ukraine will have no difficulty absorbing these articles and services into its armed forces."

This is significant. All the training up to this was run by the Europeans through the F-16 Training Coalition.

Zelensky threatens world leaders ahead of Moscow’s Victory Day celebrations

The Ukrainian leader has rejected Russia’s proposal for a three-day truce from May 8 and insists on a 30-day ceasefire instead

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has warned that Kiev cannot guarantee the safety of world leaders attending the May 9 celebrations in Moscow. He also dismissed Russia’s proposal for a Victory Day ceasefire as a “theatrical production.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier announced a unilateral three-day pause in military operations starting May 8 and continuing through the World War II Victory Day celebrations, citing humanitarian reasons. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described the move as a potential “start of direct negotiations with Kiev without preconditions.” Kiev, however, has demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire instead.
Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, Zelensky reiterated this position.
“It is impossible to build any plan for the next steps to end the war in two or three days. And so it just doesn’t look very serious... It’s more of a theatrical production on his part,” he said, referring to Putin, as cited by Interfax-Ukraine.

“No one is going to help Putin play this in order to give him a soft atmosphere of escape from isolation on May 9, and to make everyone feel comfortable and safe – those leaders, friends, or partners of Putin who will come to Kremlin Square... We are either at war, or Putin is showing that he is ready for a ceasefire,” Zelensky added.
He claimed that Kiev is ready to declare a ceasefire at any time, provided both sides agree that it will last for at least 30 days.
In March, Russia and Ukraine both agreed to a 30-day partial ceasefire with US mediation, focused on halting strikes on energy infrastructure. Ukraine, however, violated the truce on multiple occasions, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Moscow has said it is prepared for peace talks but has repeatedly warned that any short-term pause without an official deal would be used by Kiev’s Western allies to rearm the Ukrainian military. Commenting on Kiev’s demand for a longer truce, Lavrov said last week it reflected Ukraine’s worsening position on the battlefield.

Ukrainian MP hails revenue from OnlyFans

A senior Ukrainian lawmaker has hailed the contribution models performing on the adult content site OnlyFans make to the nation’s budget. Daniil Getmantsev, the head of the parliament’s Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Committee, thanked the “models” creating content for the site associated with sex workers for paying taxes, adding that he knows many of them personally.
The MP was responding to a journalist’s question about the tax debts accumulated by sex industry models.
”I am very grateful to those models who paid taxes,” Getmantsev responded, stating that the sum that was paid was “quite large” and that he communicates with “many” of the models via social media.
The total sum generated by OnlyFans amounts to “over 14 million hryvnas ($335,233), Ukrainian broadcaster TCN reported on Thursday, citing the head of the State Tax Service, Ruslan Kravchenko.

Getmantsev called for the decriminalization of sex-industry content production, branding the current Ukrainian government as “hypocritical” on the issue. According to Getmantsev, OnlyFans models should be treated as “self-employed persons” like artists.
Creators of adult content in Ukraine currently could face up to five years in prison for the “import, production, sale, and distribution of pornographic materials.”
In 2021, the Ukrainian parliament passed digital services tax legislation dubbed the “Google Tax Act.” The law focuses on regulation and taxation of online adult content websites and services.
Ukrainian media reported in January that only 10% of 4,400 OnlyFans models had replied to State Tax Service demands to pay taxes, submitting declarations totaling 326.1 million hryvnas ($7.76 million).
The filings revealed a tax debt amounting to $1.5 million at the time and triggered a series of raids against OnlyFans models by Ukraine’s Bureau of Economic Security.

Ukraine is the ground zero for Neo-Nazism.......and child trafficking.

Neo-Nazism on the rise in Europe – Kremlin

Europeans are “rightly” concerned by the trend and should fight against any manifestations of the ideology, spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said

Neo-Nazism is on the rise in Europe and extensive efforts are needed to combat this, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Monday.
Peskov was asked to comment on a recent Politico report claiming that the leaders of Poland, France, Germany, and the UK had declined to attend Vladimir Zelensky’s Victory Day celebrations in Kiev. Ukraine has positioned the event as an alternative to the parade set to be held in Moscow on May 9 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany.
Asked if this refusal represented a shift in modern Europe’s attitudes toward neo-Nazism, Peskov said it is unlikely to become “a turning point” and claimed that “manifestations of neo-Nazism in Europe are quite significant.”
“The Europeans themselves understand this and many in Europe are rightly afraid of this,”
Peskov added. He insisted that the fight against fascism should not be a “one-time event” but a constant and continuous effort at all levels of society.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also recently raised concerns over the rise of neo-Nazism in Europe. During a public lecture in Moscow last week, he insisted that “Nazism needs to be rooted out not only in Ukraine but in all of Europe.”
‘Real de-Nazification’ would include all Europe – Medvedev

‘Real de-Nazification’ would include all Europe – Medvedev

Peskov’s comments come after Politico reported that Zelensky had asked EU officials to visit the event in the Ukrainian capital as a show of “diplomatic force” against Russia. Meanwhile, the annual military parade on Red Square in Moscow is set to be attended by leaders from Brazil, Venezuela, China, Cuba, Vietnam, Slovakia, and elsewhere.
Zelensky recently appeared to threaten any foreign officials who opt to visit the 80th anniversary celebrations in Moscow, stating that Kiev cannot guarantee their safety during the event.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Zelensky of openly threatening to carry out a terrorist attack on the Victory Day parade, citing it as proof that Kiev is not interested in peace.
Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a unilateral three-day ceasefire in honor of the Victory Day celebrations. Zelensky has declined the proposal, insisting instead on a 30-day unconditional ceasefire.

A key signal will be if Trump sells Patriots to Ukraine, then we will know where Trump is finally landing on how to end this.
