On a serious level Kate Forbes the Scotch Gaelic native speaker Auld Licht Presbyterian who was his main rival trammelled him in the big television debate, completely trounced him. Scotland will be Scotland but still it is a bit strange that he won out of her- just like the Scottish though to decide to "own the racist English" by electing a Pakistani their leader just at the moment when the English have Rishi Sunak as their own one.

Sturgeon and her Husband had a ridiculous amount of power in the SNP = = How legitimate that election win is ~ Is questionable.

That is an Afghan name- a lot of Afghans look extremely "White", what is obviously the mum-in-law in that photo looks extremely "White" and it would not surprise me if the Trots photoshopped her hubbie's skin tones to make them look darker.

I assume that the girl with the red hair and the glasses in both pictures is their daughter? I don't think that the girl in pink in the first photo and is the same as the dark haired girl she is holding in the second one.

My sister and I spent dour summers with our cousins in Scotland and I find it hard to believe to Scots have all of a sudden reached the height of civilization where they stop throwing all manner of abuse about the place as a matter of course. Humza Yousaf is just a not very bright careerist- a less bright and less connected David Lame essentially imho.
 

Declaration of Arbroath to go on show​

The letter, written in the 14th century to assert Scotland’s right to independence, will be unveiled at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday.

The Declaration is a letter dated April 6, 1320 written by the barons and freeholders of Scotland, on behalf of the Kingdom of Scotland, to Pope John XXII.

The document asks him to recognise Scotland’s independence and acknowledge Robert the Bruce as the country’s lawful king.

The letter also asks the pontiff to persuade King Edward II of England to end hostilities against the Scots, so their energy may be better used to secure the frontiers of Christendom.
