No. Read the comments. That article was from two year ago. He has not been heard from for a year or two. I never met the guy, haven't even seen a photo. Do you know anything about him, apart from his articles?

Today, I had the misfortune of being at a bus stop, waiting for a bus

Along came four young foreign students. As best as I could ascertain they were two Germans and two Italians (two boys and two girls, one of each), they spoke very good English and I could understand clearly what they were saying to each other. But when they separated, the two Germans, who went to put stuff in a bin, and the two Italians started speaking in German and Italian to each other, respectively. When they united, all four of them, they started speaking English again among themselves

What do those two young Germans and Italians have over @Diarmuid? Manners

They were eating sushi btw, that they bought in Dunnes right beside the bus stop. It was the two Germans who went to the bin to dispose of the plastic trays after they had finished eating. I noticed that they sort of hung around each other a bit when that happened, speaking in their own language to each other. When they were together again, they started speaking English among themselves again

The point I'm making of course (with my true story) is that it's rude to speak in a language that others don't if you share a common language. @Diarmuid is rude
