Good article on the realistic options fir Ukraine and its backers.
It's over bar the butchers bill.
The sheer impotence of the UK France Germany is laid down.

The countries of Europe have been so long thinking along NATO lines and the assurance that the American cavalry will come steaming over the horizon should Russia threaten that it has neglected to ensure that it can fight its own battles, and now it can't.

Rows of shiny tanks, costing millions apiece, paraded past politicians and citizens were there to impress all of a country's might, but fields of battle have an unfortunate habit of correcting such illusions and this is what has happened in Ukraine, but few have yet to notice or the courage to admit it.

Warfare requires an industrial base to support it, that is a truth known to the world in general, and yet the UK was going to allow the closure of its one remaining blast furnace until somebody kicked up a fuss.

The West is in no way fit to fight any war other than on its own people, and that is what it is doing, but the people are becoming less inclined to fight any war on the West's behalf, yet they still don't see the connection.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has claimed that a law he signed banning negotiations with Russia does not apply to him personally, after calling for a direct meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky intends to travel to Türkiye later this week, where direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are expected to resume for the first time since Kiev suspended talks in 2022. He has insisted that Putin must attend the talks in person to prove that Moscow has a genuine interest in peace.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Zelensky rejected claims that his outreach contradicts Ukrainian law. A September 2022 decree, endorsed by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council and signed by Zelensky, prohibits negotiations with Russia while Putin remains in office. The law was introduced as Kiev pursued a military victory in the conflict.
”It’s a Russian narrative that I cannot speak with Putin,” Zelensky said. “Nobody but me can conduct negotiations on sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, on our course.”

Zelensky claimed in January that the ban was intended to prevent unauthorized negotiations by other Ukrainian officials, particularly to curb separatist influences and “shadow” negotiation channels. Russian officials have pointed to the law as evidence that Kiev is unwilling to engage diplomatically.
The Ukrainian Constitution bars elections during wartime and requires that presidential authority pass to the speaker of parliament if no legal successor is chosen. Zelensky’s presidential term expired last year, yet he remains in power, dismissing opponents as Kremlin sympathizers for questioning his legitimacy.
Moscow has described Zelensky’s political status as an internal Ukrainian matter but cautioned that any treaties he signs could be challenged for lacking legitimacy. US President Donald Trump, whose administration has offered to broker a peace deal between Kiev and Moscow, has described Zelensky as “a dictator without elections.”
The US has conducted multiple rounds of talks with Moscow and Kiev, promoting trust-building measures such as a 30-day moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure. Russia says its forces adhered fully to the plan, while accusing Ukraine of violating the partial ceasefire multiple times.

US officials have called direct talks the next logical step in the Ukraine peace process. Senior American negotiators will reportedly observe the meeting in Istanbul. Kiev has urged its Western supporters to impose additional sanctions on Russia, should Putin decline to attend. Moscow has yet to confirm its delegation.

Germany could reintroduce military draft – defense minister

Germany may be forced to revive conscription if not enough people join the army voluntarily, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has said.
Berlin abolished conscription in 2011 but has recently considered bringing it back, citing “threats” from Russia. According to the broadcaster N-tv, the Social Democrats and Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democrats agreed in their coalition deal to introduce the so-called “Swedish model,” which combines selective mandatory and voluntary service.
“We have agreed that we will initially rely on voluntarism – a service that is initially voluntary and intended to encourage young people to serve their country,” Pistorius said in an address to the Bundestag on Wednesday.
“And I say this quite deliberately and honestly: the emphasis is also on ‘initially,’ in case we cannot recruit enough volunteers,” he added.
“In the medium and long term, we will strengthen personnel levels to ensure that the Bundeswehr is sustainably positioned for both homeland security and alliance defense,” the minister said.

According to Pistorius, applications for military service increased by more than 20% in the first quarter of 2025. Germany plans to raise the number of active soldiers from 180,000 to over 200,000 by 2031.
Enlistment had previously dropped by 7% in 2023, as the Bundeswehr struggled to attract younger recruits, prompting some politicians to describe the recruitment goals as unrealistic.
Although Germany has supplied Ukraine with heavy weapons, including Leopard 2 tanks, Berlin denies that the country is directly involved in the conflict with Russia. Carsten Breuer, Germany’s top general, told Deutsche Welle in March that the country was living in a “grey zone” between full-scale war and complete peace.
During a visit to Lithuania in January, Pistorius claimed that Russia could prepare its army for a “theoretical attack” on NATO in 2029 or 2030.
Moscow has denied any plans to attack NATO member states and accused Berlin of dangerous escalation after Merz voiced support for supplying Kiev with Taurus long-range cruise missiles. Russia argued that the shipment of such sophisticated weapons would make Germany a de facto direct participant in the conflict.

Ukraine wasted $770 million on bogus arms deals – FT

Unreliable foreign contractors and rampant corruption and were behind the losses, the report claims.

Ukraine has wasted $770 million on attempts to buy weapons from dubious sources, the Financial Times reported on Friday.
The paper’s investigation, based on court filings, leaked government documents, and interviews with officials, has offered a glimpse into Kiev’s frenzy to procure arms following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.
Officials often had to pay “large amounts in advance to little-known companies for materiel that to this day has never arrived,” the paper said. It cited an example of a nondescript gun shop in Arizona, whose owner received an up-front payment of €17.1 million ($19.1 mn) for a deal worth €49 million.
The promised arms, however, never came. Ukraine won an arbitration trial but has yet to recover money, the FT says.

Ukraine has spent between $6 billion and $8 billion annually from its own state budget on arms since the start of hostilities, documents reviewed by the Financial Times show. Of that, $770 million in advance payments went to brokers who failed to deliver.
Several foreign suppliers sold arms at heavily exaggerated prices as global demand soared, with some equipment delivered in unusable condition. Others simply disappeared after receiving payment.
Officials told the newspaper that rampant corruption in the defense ministry played a role in the losses. Authorities are reportedly looking into several cases of suspected collusion and outright embezzlement. According to the FT, in some cases, the investigations are being hindered by slow cooperation from US and EU authorities, who can take up to six months to respond to an assistance request.
However, some Ukrainian officials have defended working with weapons dealers, arguing that it allows them to purchase arms from countries that do not want to be seen as being involved in the conflict.
Ukraine has been rocked by numerous procurement and graft scandals. Earlier this year, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov dismissed the head of the independent Defense Procurement Agency (DPA), which was set up to maximise transparency in purchasing. Umerov accused the DPA of turning weapons procurement into an “Amazon, where every internet user can see in real time who is buying what and in what quantities.”
The spat sparked “unease” in the West, with officials voicing concern that it risks paralyzing Ukraine’s weapons dealings, according to the Washington Post.

Zitler will find out soon enough that he's nothing but a disposable useful idiot.
The final deal will be cut by officials from both sides and Zitler will disappear off the stage soon after.

As usual, he is not n the ball. In summary, Russia wants at the moment, 4 oblasts and they occupy all but a small sliver of each one. And likely will have those areas by sometime in early June.

Then, they will demand Sumy and another oblast to make it 6. So expect the west to throw their last effort now because there is no happy ending for them and it is obvious to the fighters that as things stand, it is a lost cause.

i assume, the Russians made their usual gains on the ground today which in recent days have increased

It might be the case that the States, Russia & China are all controlled by the Jews & that we need to resist Russia & America in Ukraine but I'm not sure if that's true.

Ukraine had an army of 700000 tough nationalists.

they have been removed. So whos are the benefactors of this.

the globalists.

if the russians are not part of the globalists, then the globalusts have had a decent win by eliminating these ukes, and a lot of russians.

if the Russians are part of the globalists then obviously it is a giant complete win

I am not sure that I would take him particularly seriously at all.

Very likely that is wishful thinking on his part.
It'll take a while for the yanks to realise that they're not as important as they think they are in this changing world.
Trump is making a bit of a tit of himself and his shit talk has cost conservatives elections in Canada and Australia.
These countries looked at Trump and said no thanks......
Putin will plough his own furrow.

European leaders backing Ukraine were reportedly “stunned” by US President Donald Trump’s refusal to support their efforts to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a phone call between the two leaders.
”He [Trump] is stepping away,” a senior European diplomat said, as cited by the Financial Times on Tuesday, describing the impression the US president produced. “Supporting and financing Ukraine, putting pressure on Russia: that’s all on us now.”
The conversation between Putin and Trump on Monday was their third public engagement since Trump took office in January, with both describing it as positive. Trump reiterated his call for continued direct talks between Moscow and Kiev, and said the conflict is “a European situation” in which the US should never have been involved.
Trump personally briefed the leaders of Ukraine, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, and the European Commission on the call, and made it clear he is “not ready to put greater pressure” on Russia, an unnamed source told the FT.

EU officials and European NATO members had been counting on Washington’s support to extract concessions from Moscow by leveraging threats of new sanctions and continued weapons support for Ukraine. They interpreted the perceived shift in the US posture as a diplomatic win for the Kremlin, the British newspaper said.
Before direct talks between Moscow and Kiev resumed in Istanbul last week, Ukraine and its backers demanded a 30-day unconditional ceasefire from Russia as a prerequisite. Kiev agreed to take part after the US endorsed the talks, while European leaders postponed their own deadline for a truce.
Moscow has since called for a memorandum to be drafted that would set out a road map to a peace treaty, possibly including a ceasefire. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that finalizing the document would take time.
Trump said following his discussion with Putin that in addition to ending the violence, a resolution of the conflict could lead to major economic benefits for the US, Russia, and Ukraine. He added that progress in the talks could be seen in a couple of weeks, but warned that a lack of results could lead Washington to reconsider its role as mediator.

So after three years of banging the drum and dragging the war on they are shocked by the idea that the world may not be thinking their way after all. It’s going to be painful period of adjustment alright.

Right, lads. If the US are not going to, Ireland is going have to step up. Every mechanic and garage needs to be sent over there. Just think of how many Ukrainian cars that need fixed. You can't stand still on a moving train.
