Eastern Europe has unfortunate memories of totalitarian regimes and while the EU might have appeared a bastion of liberty 20 years ago things have changed and the scales are falling slowly from the eyes.

I'm finding myself more and more in agreement with the DUP these days instead of the so called nationalists there are in SF/SDLP etc.
Perhaps striking for Irish independence was a huge mistake when all we see now are the shinners trying to flood the country with every other nation's rejects.
The last 100 years has seen Ireland claiming to be independent when in reality since 1973 it's been a vassal state of the EEC, now EU.
The only thing that changed is who the masters of the Irish are.
