Apparently the Mayo team are going on stage with the cup in a different town every night. They were in Ballyhaunis last night, Ballaghaderreen tonight etc etc. and this crack is going on into next week. I have heard that many are just not showing up for work.
I find it shocking that people would do this without even having the manners to ring their employer, and that the employers are just shrugging it off as if it was normal.
 
General bread and circus stuff? Part of the job of the GAA is to keep people distracted by watching sport instead of playing it themselves. It's plausible that the GAA rigs games to ensure more attention and viewers.

Very unethical and wrong, if they are rigging games.

He has a higher IQ than the typical Mayo man. So when he crossed into Roscommon for the first time ever, he lowered the average IQ of two counties simultaneously

One win in 75 years, especially after trying so hard to win it since 1985 ~ I'll forgive a bit of over-exuberance.

Having said that ~ There has been a bit of over the top ( some might say hysteria ) carry-on.

A relation was in Kilmaine when the bus with Sam Maguire made a brief stop, and some of those that turned out were jumping up on the back of the player who was carrying the Sam Maguire Cup just to touch the Sam Maguire Cup ~ In fairness that kind of carry-on is over the top.
