Certainly anyone can be put on trial and if convicted they should be punished.

Not sure if it should be but yes, that is the standard punishment.

The USN got sidetracked in its ship development program in the last cycle - not just the Zumwalt destroyers but also with the new littoral fleet they planned to introduce (details below). The question will be if they can refit and replace their current fleet in good order to keep their stats strong in any calculations.

thanks for posting that -- as a hobby i once studied marine engineering and the trimaran hull is the perfect hull for me it does every thing and no other hull shape comes near .
the USA navy are a strange outfit -- the background to the USA getting a trimaran is that there was an incident in Papaua new guinea some years ago and the yanks could not get a battle group there in time and they asked the Austrailians to do the job and the yanks had their predictions and were shocked to find the Austrailians a good month ahead of anything they could do.
and they said they must discover how did they manage it .
that evening the Austrailians commandeered a trimaran ferry drove their battle group on board and went to new guinea at 44 knots compared to the fastest USA 18 knots ship for troop transport --in addition the shallow draft meant it could land the contents of the ferry in 2 hours and the yanks expected 2 weeks all going well .
this shocked the yanks as they had no knowledge of what a trimaran could do .
there are 2 AUSTAL trimaran ferries operating for years between the canaries and Spain they are called the BANJAMAR EXPRESS and the BANDEROS EXPRESS .
BANJAMAR got world ship of the year in 2020 and they have no problems and the Fred Olsen line has ordered more at a cost of 190 million each with no problems against the USA built 600 million for the same AUSTAL ship and it cannot hardly last a day without some major problem.
the trimaran EARTHRACE did the round the world in less than 60 days beating a USA nuclear sub which held the record.
and a previous diesel trimaran had a very interesting life as the CABLE AND WIRELESS ADVENTURE which did the journey in 60 days 20 hours and this boat is carbon fiber and is currently used for whale protection and is now renamed Brigette Bardot.
Polyesnian sailors traveled thousands of miles in sailing trimarans thousands of years ago and when discovered in the 1800s no British navy ship could keep up with them and they discovered the primitive people were far from primitive when it came to bravery and sailing by the stars and knowledge of hull design .
for me i was to build the boat in sections and put it together in dunmore east which has a dock which lowers into the sea .
another mad project .

Not forgetting HMS Triton which was also used by the Aussies for a while -

Ireland, North and South, has never experienced conscription in its entire history. I suspect under the EU that might be about to change. I think Russia will invade Western Europe in this year or shortly thereafter.
no Russian will go to war against any part of the EU .
Putin stuck it out for 9 years while he watched them slaughter 15,000 Ukrainians of Russian descent before he had no choice - as he is obliged under Russian law to come to the aid of Russians and he could be deposed for not doing so -
he WILL take the remaining Russian speaking and Russian ethnic parts of Ukraine including Odessa .
Russia will make a profit as the best miracle soil and minerals and ports are in the Russian part of Ukraine and he has no interest in the rest,
it is a economic disaster zone and when he takes what IS HIS AND WHICH IS RUSSIAN already then that is the end unless the USA want a terrorist war which Putin will punish .
.the problem at the moment is that the Brits wish to steal 360 billion lodged in London banks in order that Russia can trade internationally for drugs and medicines and other items -
-the Brits have stated they are going to use Russian money to kill Russians and the Russians have warned the British this is a declaration of war and this is sovereign money and if they start seizing monies belonging to a country they do not like ,
nobody will put their funds in an English bank .
if that happens the shit will hit the fan economically in England as all of Africa and Asia withdraw their monies as they realize it could be seized by anyone at any time. .

Are Sea Shepherd still using it? Last I heard one of the pontoons had snapped off and they had got it back to Australia for repair, but that was years ago.

They had to COOK part of it as it is carbon fiber and they managed to repair it and the man who built it repaired it as it was struck by a rouge wave .
i personally have no faith in a glorified fishing rod but modern aircraft are now carbon fiber .
the physics of modern trimaran design is make it of spiders webs so that only 3 ft of hull is in the water and the less hull in the water the faster it will go with a small engine driving a water jet .
i would make it of steel and i discussed this with a naval architect and he got into hysterics laughing at my idiocy .
i did not think it was that daft and my wife does not like a normal boat which rocks and spends all its life at an angle .
a multi hull is the only boat she would be prepared to spend a day on .

Since crossing the previous red lines have gone so well for NATO, the USA, and Europe over the last two years, Clown World has now decided to further antagonize both Russia and China. It’s certainly a bold move, anyhow. It’s not a smart one and it smacks of desperation. We’ll see how it works out

ATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine has a right to use its Western-supplied weapons to defend itself against Russia, even if that includes striking targets within Russia’s borders.

“This is Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine, which is a blatant violation of international law,” Stoltenberg told Radio Liberty during an interview on Tuesday. “And according to international law, Ukraine has the right to self-defense. And it also includes strikes against legitimate military targets, Russian military targets outside of Ukraine

However, despite such a heavy defeat suffered by the Ukrainian military, the enemy is still strong enough. This is because it is the US-led united West rather than Ukraine with its armed forces that is Russia’s main enemy and Ukraine is just one of the fronts of the West’s hybrid war against Russia. The failure of the first hybrid blitzkrieg does not mean a cessation of the war against Russia. On the contrary, this implies expanding the aggression and beefing up the entire set of actions constituting hybrid warfare, including the opening of new fronts of the armed confrontation.

It looks like the west has lost Ukraine, Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali in the space of two years. The only ones left to preach to are the Irish. The USA went over to bully Niger but now they were told to pack their bags and Niger
will start selling Uranium Iran.

I think the local fockers living around those places are too thick to imagine what a nuclear hit would be like.
Any nuclear strike anywhere in the world is most likely going to screw up the internet to some degree, and it will certainly wipe millions of mobiles in the general area of its detonation.

I tend to agree with you there but I don't know for sure, I don't expect you to know either. I saw in the film

"the day after" about a nuclear bomb going off, that the electricity went out in car dash boards and other mains and battery systems. I wonder how would the initial explosion effect the electricity in the area? I don't expect anyone to know, but someone might. I missed part of the film when two gay men started at it in the seat to my right and I could not look forward and sideways at the same time.
