Is The Economy Just Now Falling Apart

Good to hear, although it never was a total ban anyway, as already mentioned.

I don't trust the car makers one inch on this, my suspicion is that it was they who were lobbying for a switch to EVs as the ultimate built in obsolescence scam thinking that slick marketing and government bullying would see people switch to EVs as peacefully as they did to diesels.

Oh boy, did they ever get it wrong!

Well feck the lot of them, especially as car prices will need to remain high to cover the losses made on this ill fated attempt to have their cake and eat it.

As with metals, the stock market itself seem to be in a blowoff parabolic phase.

The stock market is surely ripe for a massive crash at this stage, question is how big. Seems everything is placed in the AI basket, if that ends up as a case of the emperor's new clothes, we are looking at a massive reset...could make the Lehman etc banking crash look like the good aul days

It must kill these clowns to acknowledge that they screwed up completely listening to the greens.
Does the destruction of the German economy matter to them as the consequences.
Probably not as much.

I wouldn't be expecting remorse to be shown by any politician, instead, they will be pointing to how they are building for the future, never acknowledging the past. It's what they do.

She me huge tech earnings reporting after the bell with Apple reporting tomorrow. Hang on to yeer hat

I shorted microsoft, facebook apple ibm and a little tezla and google.

I hit big on Microsoft and got roasted on fb(meta)

But the last few days has me convinced that stocks in general are in big trouble.

All this fictional wealth is evaporating so spending by young people will disappear. No more fancy bling.

I have recently started shorting stocks, a dangerous game. I will concentrate on restaurant chains at the higher end

Don't bet more than you can afford to lose.

Question: Has the price of petrol gone up or down in the US since Trump started? What about the price of eggs?

Both well down at this point. I gassed up for $2.34 a gallon a few days back. But in crazy California it is over 5 I think.

Wow! Cheaper than here. MSM here definitely gave the impression that oil had gone up and that eggs were still expensive. Even on such a simple and easy to prove item, the MSM tell us lies.

If the US invades Ireland, does that mean we get petrol at 70cents a litre? Sounds good to me.

I believe Bannion is going to convince Trump to “save” Ireland. It os all about oul and explains why about a million Indians are being flooded into Ireland. It is obvious.

No, no cars, so the useless pricks will be used to pull the rickshaws to transport the Irish. AND it reduces carbon.

I figured it out this morning when I went out in the minus 19 temperature.

Jeez, that's some dose of global warming you've got there!

Yes, about as cold as it gets in this area but nothing compared to say North Dakota

A couple of points there.

First up is that in construction a good number of jobs are being taken by lads from Northern Ireland who find the opportunities down here more plentiful at present, thus displacing native workers.

Secondly, there is a tremendous demand for tradespeople that is simply not being filled from the bottom. Machinery and car dealers in particular are crying out for apprentices while plumbers and electricians can name their own price, yet schools insist on pushing all their pupils into higher education!

A fellow I was talking to recently has just bought a house at 26, choosing an apprencticeship over a degree has ensured that he is on the housing ladder years before many graduates can even start dreaming of it. Yet not one mention of this aspect in the article.

Very true, was talking to a plumber recently, non national, living here 20 years, and nearly due to retire. Said the exact same thing, there's no trades people among the next generation, said it's going to be a massive issue. Of course, we all know the government solution.. Apprenticeships... No, of course not, they will send the likes of mcentee to India or Africa to recruit the cheapest labour they can get away with...
