Barrett from what I know of him was very critical of the IRA. This is very typical of the scum of Fine Gael from which Barrett emerges. And here he is, aping the stylings of the PIRA.

However its only the stylings and not the substance. As I said earlier, unless these SN start giving a more carbon copy of the whole IRA approach [Without the later sell out] they are just cartoon.

Should other approaches emerge they could get substantial sympathy, support and members.

I think that Barrett would not have a nominalist view of the Irish nation- for him the nation would not be even all the Irish indigenous individuals massed together as such but rather an Archetypal of Angelic Essence with something being more or less Irish through how much it or they manifests that Essence or not as the case may be.

I don't like being critical of him in public because Gript for all it's faults is best in important ways as regards journalism in the South but he really does have some major short comings which all I think come basically down to the fact that he seems to believe that it is completely unimportant to make a critical (and self critical) examination of how and why things have gotten into the mess they have gotten into in terms of both Church and State in the 26 counties.
